Still blown away by the fact that Heartwood won a World Fantasy Award last night. Such a fantastic weekend at the World Fantasy Convention, topped off in spectacular style. Wonderful to meet @joe-hill.bsky.social and @ericlarocca.bsky.social too. Now, back to work!

I feel kind of guilty saying it since the world has been such a bin fire, but 2025 has been good to me. A World Fantasy Award, haunted houses, magic, Neutral Milk Hotel, alcoholism in Wake in Fright, folk-horror and Best Horror of the Year. Bring on 2026.
