You know, it’s as close to a statistical certainty as anything could be that over the lifespan of the human race there has been an elderly white guy who was even more dumb, lazy and dishonest than me.
I find that comforting.
Have a good night.

Detroit now has a cool 10’ tall 2.5 ton bronze statue of Robocop downtown. It took many years and lots of people’s involvement to become reality.

If after we blow your boat up you still float, you are a witch, so we can kill you. If you drown you are not a witch.

All super rich guys sound the same now. It’s all “I sleep four hours a night and spend the other twenty hours a day developing a product that’s going to bring us the best widespread poverty anyone’s ever seen.”

Life is confusing and I need to reduce the number of people who I take seriously. How does it sound to ignore anyone born after my 20th high school class reunion? Is that about right?

Opinion | The state of Louisiana owes $172 million to three men who coached or will coach the LSU football team. Here's my scolding op-ed about a blue state's investment in a middle school math tutoring program.

Do you ever get something from the kitchen, look at it and think “should I eat this”?
If so, welcome to adulthood. You’ll hate it.

Apparently GM is permanently laying off 1,100 workers at Factory Zero where a lot of EV production takes place. I have been in that facility within the last year and lots of it was still being built out.

Last night we watched the movie Laura with Gene Tierney and Dana Andrews. It occurred to me I couldn’t think of another film whose two leads both had androgynous names.
I always enjoy Vincent Price as a big crooked horny himbo in this. So greedy and dishonest.

We watched Animal Crackers for the first time tonight. I will have something to say about it later. Though I am open to being talked out of that.
1930 was a long time ago. This film makes it inescapably clear how humor has changed in 95 years.

My campaign platform:

Pi =3.1

All food container lids fit every container.

Leaf blowers must be no louder than a Prius driving by.

A tax on billionaires to fund social services.

Another tax on them just for the hell of it.

Subsidized Ebikes for people who would otherwise drive a gas vehicle

Here’s a puzzle. The ground floor of this house, which can be walked in a loop, has only one step. If you walk forward up this step and counterclockwise through the house back to this point you will not have stepped down another step.

Not every plant lamp needs a microcontroller and RF remote control. Especially if it’s cheap and unreliable.
Replaced with a simple mechanical switch in a pill bottle.

It’s great. I read it in two days and didn’t want it to end.
Speaking of the petite bourgeois (writers), did you know you can still buy my book The Dad Rock That Made Me a Woman? A great gift for the holidays and all the other days.

You guys! It came! It’s officially the holiday season when the catalog comes from The Vermont Country Store.
If you haven’t experienced this think of the most square white people things of the last 50 years. It’s all here. Matching red flannel pajamas for the whole family? Yup.
