Finished and now I do not know what to do with myself

Una you sprouted an everlasting place inside my heart.

Also @alixeharrow.bsky.social in awe of time loop insanity the plotting must have taken eons. So tight.
On Chapter 8 trying to pace myself, because I want to savour not devour. I've read and loved all of Harrow's work (short, long, in-between) and can already say that this one, this one is The One. I'm ten years old again and hugging a book to my chest. I'm supposed to be working but reading instead.
Happy THE EVERLASTING BY @alixeharrow.bsky.social DAY!!! To celebrate, we're sharing our last excerpt, chapters 6 and 7. Enjoy your Ladyknight Tuesday!

democrats of all stripes should be rallying around kat abughazaleh asap. it doesnt matter where you stand ideologically. trying to jail dissenters is fundamentally unamerican and 100% fascist. democratic leaders at all levels should be making noise about it. you dont need a poll or focus group.

Thank you @undertow.bsky.social! I'm excited to burrow myself into these on the Canadian long weekend.

My weird fiction exposure so far has been Vandermeer, Mieville, and mostly older works and I'm trying to read more widely and discover new authors because: what a gorgeous genre.

all most of us need to know is that we have to stop burning stuff

stop burning stuff for heat

stop burning stuff for make car go

stop burning stuff for power

Canada Post “lost” 1 billion dollars last year?

How about, “it cost Canadians 1 billion dollars to have a national postal service” which works out to costing about $25 a year per person (population of Canada in 2024 = 40 million). Seems like a pretty reasonable cost to me.
"Canada Post is on track to lose money" Hum. Duh. It cost less than a toonie to send a letter across Canada.

"Canada Post is a service and not a business" was common knowledge until late stage capitalism brain rotted most people into think if it ain't making money for shareholders, it's failing.

Just got refunded for my @kneecapceol.bsky.social tickets in @toronto.ca and am absolutely livid that they are barred entry in Canada @vgasparro.bsky.social you are the one acting contrary to Canadian values and chose the side of genocide and repression of free speech.

The 400 richest Americans are now worth a record $6.6 trillion.

The entire bottom 50% of America is worth just $4.2 trillion.

Our problem isn't a lack of resources.

Our problem is ever-expanding inequality.

Hi @ezrakleinbot.bsky.social, we're friendly, we've been on each other's shows. We both agree Kirk's murder is horrific. Q: was Kirk "practicing politics in exactly the right way" when he called for me to be deported because he didn't like my Covid views on MSNBC?

Esp from a former (albeit elitist) climate champion. Hard right turn from his Tragedy of the Horizons speech to let's market ourselves as greener oil vs non-democratic oil countries under guise of global peace and cont to reap massive royalties, while the taxpayer funds stranded future assets
Mark Carney continues to use the phrase “decarbonized oil” to try to greenwash a new oil pipeline for Alberta. It’s so shameless and I would argue it even shows contempt for the public to be so dishonest.

SHIVERS - A grey rain falls on Martinaise. The city soaks in it, cold and dripping. Waves hit the concrete breakers. The homeless huddle by the fires behind the fences. There, among the shacks, is your home. Stay. Have a drink. Forever.

Flagging fake news left and right on YouTube. At first it was funny and now I am tired. Any other Canadians see this influx of ads featuring either Mark Carney or Jagmeet Singh being "arrested"?

The public will pay for very expensive pipelines that are not necessary (see: cheap low carbon alternatives) and saddles us with stranded assets. Investors don't wanna pay for that shit, they have already figured out it's not a good return UNLESS the taxpayer holds the bag. Don't be fooled Canada!
No public funds for pipelines

Pass it on
Vipond says he’s worried that, if funded by tax dollars, a pipeline won’t payback its initial investments.

“At a time where building a pipeline is a risky endeavour, that risk should be taken on by private capital,”

Israel has killed 240+ journalists. People who'd cover a strike that killed their kids and go on to cover the next strike, in the pursuit of convincing the world to act, of the hope of tomorrow being different.

How many more murders will it take for the mainstream media's cowardly fever to break?
BREAKING: Israel Killed Al Jazeera Journalist Anas Al-Sharif
