Dipping in and out of watching the Council meeting today, but caught Nan with a soft spoken banger of a speech.
Nan Gregory, an older Point Grey resident, voiced what she wants her city to be. She’s opposed to the proposed property tax freeze, as all speakers so far have been.

Breaking: ABC Vancouver just voted unanimously against a staff recommendation to finance a DTES Community Land Trust and aquire an SRO building under community control, against the requests of community members and advocates.

This is going to make homelessness worse.

The American empire that has sheltered capital for so long is starting to crack. This is a moment of opportunity as well as of peril. A little bit of optimism of the intellect is called for, if only to jump-start the optimism of the will.

David Harvey recalls a lifetime of encounters, actual and intellectual, with the enigmatic Piero Sraffa. Interlocutor of Wittgenstein, Keynes and Robinson; devastating critic of neoclassical economics...

🙏 Malpeque please, no
Atlantic Canada went 24-8 for the Liberals last election.

Conservatives would like to hold everywhere they won last time, plus maybe Cape Breton, Malpeque on PEI, or a couple rural Newfoundland ridings.

Liberals would like to take Miramichi and South Shore-St. Margarets.

Not a lot to say yet!
justin are you willing to call the election Right Now, what about in 3 minutes.
