Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

Ok, I know "long-form commentary" seems better than sound-bites, but there's no way I'm going to watch a "film-length" explainer no matter how interested I am in the topic.

What is "film-length" even, anyway? 60 minutes? 90 minutes? 180 minutes? 13 hrs of LOTR?

I wasn't even motivated to find out.

Saw @tomflood.bsky.social standing on a corner in the Olympic Village on my way to the @visionzerovancouver.ca workshop. I had to stop and flash my "Bicycle Freedom" t-shirt at him 😄

Welcome to Vancouver, Tom, sorry I couldn't stop and chat. #bikeyvr

"Citywide solar access policy might limit allowable max height on some sites"

Shadows. Once again you're using shadows as an excuse to not build housing. Why try to hide that?

Solar access policy, lmao

Hi Bluesky 👋

Small life update: I’m at the centre of a multimillion dollar lawsuit in Alberta launched by a failed candidate for Jason Kenney’s UCP

It may be the longest and most expensive media trial in Canadian history

I’m ready to go public about it and I want to share more details with you 🧵

Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim’s ABC party published inaccurate statistics about a decrease in violent crime in the city when touting the impact of its “historic investments” in public safety.

The Vancouver budget will be devastating to services so many rely upon and to the hardworking employees delivering them, but here's one tiny sliver of good news: the scheme to spend millions to widen Beach Avenue and tear out the bike lane appears to have been dropped from the Capital Plan!

Drove Q to Granville Island tonight. Tesla driver had some sort of interaction with a pedestrian in the crosswalk on Anderson under the bridge. Driver then got out of his car, opened the trunk, walked over to the sidewalk, and attacked the pedestrian.

So that was fun.

If this was you, BC 169 ADM driving a Toyota Matrix, you're an asshole. Dark, pouring rain, on a designated bike route, in a car canyon, and you feel the need to honk and close pass. An absolute tool, a moron, an imbecile. As you heard while I narrated behind you the whole way. (video next) #bikeyvr

Anthony, what is it like doing engineering internationally? Sometimes you're working with Americans, sometimes with EVERYONE ELSE. Which means holding all "intuitive" numbers in my head in at least two COMPLETELY DIFFERENT unit systems.

In other news, the tide was as high as I've ever seen it in False Creek this morning. Maybe 3 ft below the top of the Seawall? It was weird seeing all the gangways horizontal.
