The Vancouver budget will be devastating to services so many rely upon and to the hardworking employees delivering them, but here's one tiny sliver of good news: the scheme to spend millions to widen Beach Avenue and tear out the bike lane appears to have been dropped from the Capital Plan!

The weather doesn't look super amazing right now for our Sunday ride to Steveston but also not rainy enough to postpone. A final call will be made tomorrow morning, but if you have a ticket and decide not to come, please cancel it.

The VULC has its GBBW ride to Steveston this weekend. Please note that this is *not* a rain or shine event. If the forecast calls for sustained rain, the event will be postponed. A decision will be made on Saturday morning (Sept 27th). Attendees will be notified by email if it is postponed.

The Stanley Park Mobility Study has been released, and the VULC is quite disappointed at its contents. While we support improving bus service in the park, nothing in the report will make cycling safer or more accessible in the near future. #bikeyvr 1/8

🚨 Important call to action! (1/5) 🚨

A vote on Stanley Park is coming to the Park Board on Sept 15. The staff report calls for working with TransLink to bring bus service around the park (great!!) but no bike lane, despite it being the favourite option among respondents. Report linked here:

After 3 years, the Stanley Park Mobility Study has been released. You can read it here: parkboardmeetings.vancouver.ca/2025/2025091...

It is very, very underwhelming. A return of a separated bike lane is contemplated, but not specifically recommended, in the 7-15 year timeframe.
