He's got a lot of nerve referring to opt-outs as "lesser men," especially given the actual lessers who've been in charge of the sport, the athletic department, and the university.

They shot up policies?
So the younger shooter, in a video submitted to the court, claims the shooting was aimed at the Zionist policies of Israel as a state. This is distinct from being an attack against Jewish people as a group. Once again the pro-Zionist coalition and right wing media jumped the gun and got it wrong.

Heritage Foundation implosion has been a wakeup call for some conservatives about dangerous trends on Trump-era right. I hope they will see that nationalism is inherently prone to bigotry, and reject it in favor of universal principles of the Founding: reason.com/volokh/2025/...
Lessons of the Heritage Foundation's Implosion
The decline of this major conservative institution has been a wakeup call for conservative intellectuals. But will they draw the right lessons from it?

Not only is this Supreme Court order making it harder for President Trump to send national guard into American cities welcome, Justice Kavanaugh seems to want to pull back from his earlier concurrence where he suggested race and ethnicity could be the basis for immigration checks. Now he says this:

I thought even the most reactionary politicians wanted to take the country back to the 1850s. Apparently that’s not far enough—now they’re dusting off letters of marque last used in the War of 1812.

People feeling hopeless about AI/LLMs spoiling all online polling and survey research should take a look at what @yamilrvelez.bsky.social is doing with “Pulse” — a tool to detect proof of life that’s compatible with Quatrics
As @seanjwestwood.bsky.social's terrifying new PNAS article demonstrates, LLMs can now pass almost every attention check, mirror personas, stay consistent across pages, and systematically bias responses in the aggregate.

So here’s a different angle: verify physical presence, not text.
