This book is riveting and so, so infuriating. It follows 5 families in Atlanta who are struggling to remain housed and paints deeply compassionate portraits of each unit. It reads almost like a novel but is outstanding journalism

Today marks the third anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.

What's happened since?

A record number of women have been prosecuted. Pregnancy loss is now considered extremely suspicious, even when it has nothing to do with abortion.
Criminalizing pregnancy: A record number of women were prosecuted the year after Dobbs
They were targeted for substance use, miscarriages, and stillbirths, largely driven by fetal personhood laws.

AMERICANS, including the American press, are allowed to influence the election as much as they want. That's literally all Fox News was created to ever do. What made Trump wrong in 2016 was he took FOREIGN HELP, which meant as POTUS he owed a foreign nation a secret favor. Then he stole secret files.
Trump sues CBS News for $10 billion over Harris interview
The lawsuit claims the interview intended to confuse the public and "attempt to tip the scales" of the 2024 presidential election.

A Nightmare on Elm Street doesn't get enough credit for its script. Within about the first ten minutes, we understand each main characters and they all know they're being haunted by the same dream figure. Gives Wes Craven plenty of room for exploration and cool sequences later.

one of the best developmental milestones for a kid is when you can start to, occasionally, reason with them

the four year old: “can we do oatmeal?”

me: “no, buddy, we don’t have time this morning because we need to get you to your field trip on time”

him, after thinking for a second: “oh, okay”

Starbucks is partnering with Mercedes on an EV charging network, making it one of the first non-fueling/auto companies to get heavily into charging. As I was just discussing on a recent podcast, this is exactly how gas stations got off the ground with Coca-Cola

my god does living out near nature with nobody around feel more appealing now than it did twenty years ago, I think I want to retire to a small cabin on a mountain lake or something
