Where does one find paczki in DC? Last year I literally went to Baltimore to find a paczek and that isn't a sustainable plan

Bad Bunny's halftime show has me reflecting on my disappointment that the US education system as a whole isn't more committed to multilingualism. So many languages & cultures are part of our various communities & we ignore real opportunities to actually celebrate that as part of our broader culture

You’ve seen the halftime show … now read my friend Petra’s new book from @dukepress.bsky.social about how Bad Bunny became the global voice of Puerto Rican resistance! 👏🏽👏🏽

Okay so how long until the halftime show is up online in full to rewatch for hours

Only 8 episodes a season and releasing in 2 parts needs to stop. Either admit that we're headed back to cable and release things one week at a time, or admit that your platform was built on binge-watching. This in between thing is bad

I have a feeling a lot of us could use this book in our lives during this particular time. For those who don't know, preorders factor into how much energy they put behind a new release, based on reader enthusiasm pre-publication. If you've got the interest and funds, please pre-order!
My book on grief, mourning, and how both of these things are deeply broken in a society of runaway capitalism & positive thinking is coming out in six months. Here are some things you can do to help it find readers, starting with preordering. You can do that through your local indie or bookshop.org

I was expecting the grocery store to be out of like, cucumbers and potatoes and toilet paper, which they were not. I was not expecting it to be out of the things I actually needed: fresh herbs and leeks! Found the thyme at store #2, but I am still leekless

Getting chills today every time I think about my friends in NYC having a mayor who deeply loves the city in the ways they do, rather than simply as the site of their power or wealth. What a way to start a new year

Have the studios all fired every last sound engineer? Bc jumping to turn the volume down every time music plays and cranking it back up when dialogue starts makes for a terrible viewing experience and I can't imagine experienced sound engineers would be happy with a mix like this

GOP Mayor Kurt Wilson conceded earlier tonight to Mary Robichaux, the Dem challenging him.

These guys are great! I donate every year and may I suggest that some of the crafts they sell on behalf of the elders make great Christmas presents?
Time once again to rep my favorite place for giving: anelder.org - they supply food, firewood and supplies for traditional crafting to Navajo Elders. If you have the cash, please give these folks a hand.

Words I would like to throw in the trash this week: nuance, aesthetic, journey, content (CONent, not conTENT. I have no problem with conTENT this week)
