I was already a PTFO super fan, but this episode took things to another level. Bernard F’ing Purdie?! Are you kidding me? 🙌
If you need an infusion of joy today:

We installed a drum kit in the PTFO studio.

And convinced the GOAT — Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, age 83 — to come play 🐐⤵️ youtu.be/vhdw6lWCb9Y?...

One of the defining feelings in American life, for decades now, is elites doing plainly criminal shit and nothing at all happening as a result. It is deranging in a way that virtually nothing else is. Media fixates on perceived street lawlessness but shit like this matters much more in my opinion.

The best band on Earth just dropped an incredible new record, that is a virtual lock for my favorite album of the year. Town Portal jams move me in a way I can’t even put into words. Transcendental stuff. Pure sonic magic. Like music from another dimension. tidal.com/browse/album...

I also grew up in Irvine. It’s legit one of the most sterile and boring cities on Earth. Touring the world has been an absolute gift. It’s been so incredibly eye-opening worldview-altering to be able to experience life outside of the bubble.

I didn't take pics but the feeling of being in a group of people with no visible beginning or end was so thrilling. The opposite of online anomie, and a living counterpoint to the wary, isolated, compartmentalized world the shitheads want to make. It's simple and obvious I guess but it means a lot.
Sorry to be corny but the aerial shots of these crowds are almost indescribably moving and hopeful

Very proud that we made a heavy-ish record in 2025 without drum samples, reamps, DIs, crazy editing, etc. The only way we’re gonna push back against this AI slop masquerading as “art” is to keep shit real.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

Horizons/West is finally out! I hope you’ll give it a spin, and I hope there’s something within these 11 tracks that resonates with you. I find new ways to connect with it and/or let it take me somewhere it each time I listen to it. Really, really proud of this one on many levels.

This is so good.
It took Trump 60 minutes to murmur out a wet "that's all, folks!" before the UN Tuesday. Given that he was talking to himself and no one outside the greater Trumpiverse can hear him, it's the only thing he could say.
