Trey Yesavage struck out 12 batters and walked none in seven innings of one-run ball in Game 5 of the freakin' World Series.

He also generated 23 whiffs tonight, the most by any pitcher in the World Series in the pitch-tracking era (since 2008).

Here are his dozen strikeouts against the Dodgers.

It’s probably not great that the 2025 Braves injury vibes have already carried over into 2026.

On a related note, Zac Gallen feels like a perfect fit for this club, if he already wasn’t before this injury news.

I don’t disagree. Neto is like the perfect type of guy to build around but, to your point, the long-term plan for the org is in flux as usual.
February 10, 2026 at 10:33 PM
Obviously can't blame him if he goes this route

The fact that the Red Sox reportedly circled back does make me think that it's not entirely out of the question.

Boston would be a great team to trade with buttttt again, I'm not sure how much I trust them pulling off this kind of move.

At the very least, he's a star and a fan favorite for an otherwise disastrous team. Gotta maintain some interest in the team.
February 10, 2026 at 8:09 PM
Honestly think Neto is someone they should look at extending long-term.

If they traded him, it’d make sense to just tear it all down and I’m not sure how much I trust this org to handle that right now.

Rotation options for the 2026 Tigers:

Tarik Skubal
Framber Valdez
Jack Flaherty
Justin Verlander
Casey Mize
Reese Olson
Troy Melton
Drew Anderson

The Tigers announce that they’ve signed Justin Verlander to a one-year deal worth $13 million.

I’m not going to lie … that’s actually really cool to see him return to Detroit. Also makes for a fascinating rotation this year.

Damn. MassLive's Sean McAdam reported that the Red Sox took several tries at acquiring Zach Neto from the Angels this offseason.

Understandably, the price was very high for a 25-year-old SS coming off consecutive 5+ bWAR seasons + is controlled through 2029.

Pitchers and catchers begin reporting to Spring Training today. The season is near.

PECOTA standings dropped today. Some notable ones for me:

-Dodgers projected for 105 (!) wins

-All five AL East teams finishing with 80+ wins

-66-ish wins for the Angels and Cardinals

Pitchers and catchers report this week, which has prompted a flurry of activity today:

-Red Sox-Brewers' six-player trade involving Caleb Durbin and Kyle Harrison
-Rays sign Nick Martinez
-Pirates sign Marcell Ozuna
-Marlins sign Chris Paddack
-White Sox sign Erick Fedde
February 9, 2026 at 5:24 PM
Fun trade! I kinda dig this for both sides.

The Red Sox had a surplus of SP and needed a 2B/3B option that was remotely pushing league-average. Durbin gives them exactly that.

The Brewers could do some interesting tinkering with Harrison and this opens the door for Jett Williams to play 3B.
Red Sox make their move. Kyle Harrison, David Hamilton and Shane Drohan to Milwaukee for 3B Caleb Durbin, INF Andruw Monasterio, C/INF Anthony Seigler and a Comp B pick.

For real. Hell, use the City Connects as the full-time uniforms and incorporate the oldies throughout the year.

Imagine hating Bad Bunny and this performance. Can't relate.

Hell yeah. I'd love to see them incorporate those uniforms a few times a year (could really say that for a lot of their uniforms).
