After playing a fictional member of the Resistance a long time ago, I never could have imagined it ever happening in real life, but here we are.
Mark Hamill posting rebellious content in a battle against a dictator and his robotic sidekick is the most Star Wars shit ever.

This was the moment that marked the beginning of the end for Sinema. She thought she could power through it and find some "centrist" way forward, ignoring the people who elected her in the first place.

She was so dead set on being as stupid as possible and the more it didn't work the worse she got.
Remember when Simena sided with GOP goons and voted down a minimum wage increase, with a flamboyant thumbs down and a little curtsy, while dressed like an 19-year-old mallrat?

Fuck off into retirement, sweetie. Good riddance.

I think it’d be good for more people to know that the exact same private equity executives responsible for destroying hundreds of jobs at Vice — Fortress Investment Group — are also responsible for destroying thousands of jobs at Gannett newspapers.

Repeatedly shouting that Joe Biden is old and unpopular is surely the pinnacle of journalism.

What the hell has happened to the New York Times?
i mean, sulzberger says exactly that in that puff interview with him

I sincerely admire this, a writer who tells pols how to do politics finally stepping up himself and I am giving his campaign money for it.
Well, the news leaked: I'm running for Minnesota State House 61A. I'm still getting things up to speed, but I've been told to share donation links, so here they are. I'm running for housing, schools, decarbonization, and keeping Minnesotans safe from far-right extremism.
Please consider donating!
I'm Will Stancil and I’m running for House District 61A to build more prosperous cities, safer communities, and accountable government in Minnesota.

So today I learned about Girl Scout Troop 6000, a Girl Scout troop entirely of girls living in NYC homeless shelters.

I also learned that you can buy all your Girl Scout cookies directly from them on-line.

Which I just did.

And, if anyone else wishes to, can be done here:

Originalism is bad faith bullshit to arrive at whatever argument you want.

Pro state's rights when it is desired, anti-state's rights when it is convenient.
Plain wording when it is desired, deep investigations of intent when plain wording does not get them where they need to go.
Originalism, like Fundamentalism is a great trick because you can always say that what needs to happen now is based on your vibes about what dead people thought when writing some stuff down. It's astrology: a hope that the unchanging crystal spheres exist and you can read their meaning now
Again, hilarious* that the same Supreme Court Justices who could squint hard enough to discover a nearly unlimited individual right to own weapons in the Second Amendment are now tying themselves in knots to ignore the clear meaning of the Fourteenth.

*infuriating

Few provisions in the Constitution are narrowly-tailored to specific facts and few provide specific remedies. Yet, in this case, Trump's conduct fits precisely within the scope of 14A §3 and the remedy is specific and mandatory.

So get ready for all kinds of word salad to avoid that.
The oral arguments suggested that 7-9 Justices want to reverse the Colorado Supreme Court disqualification decision, but the arguments they advanced against it are so weak, simplistic, and contrary to their long held positions that I suspect the clerks are really going to struggle to write it.

To the surprise of exactly no one, Trump puts himself before anyone, particularly his voters
Remarkable but true: Trump's strategy of delaying his 1/6 trial could screw over GOP voters. Pushing it into summer could lock him in as GOP nominee well before they learn just how legally vulnerable he truly is.

Today's pod digs deep into this.

How Trump’s Trial-Delaying Scam Could Screw Over GOP Voters
Fresh off a big loss in appeals court, Trump hopes to kick his trial-by-jury until after the election. That could backfire on GOP voters—or even on Trump himself.

my other idea along these lines is that biden should advertise the billions in summer food assistance the administration got passed into law with a big event where he is handing out lunches to school kids and attacking Republicans who oppose this
biden should have the IRS make a giant check with $300 billion written on it, and then he should hold a press conference touting new enforcement on rich tax cheats with the check as a centerpiece

i am not joking
If this is what is radicalizing the billionaires against Joe Biden then Biden should be leveraging his bully pulpit and screaming about it every day - pitting the billionaires against rest of us.

Up to Biden to take the fight to them and lead it.
