“Insane” says Goodwin. We were in the throes of civil unrest & this twat told ppl to “Head for the hotels housing them and burn them to the ground”

Goodwin wants us to believe it was merely an “anti immigration tweet” rather than reality: incitement to riot/murder.

Grading and googling hallucinated citations, as one does nowadays, and now that LLMs have been around for a while, I've discovered new horrors: hallucinated journals are now appearing in Google Scholar with dozens of citations bc so many people are citing these fake things

This line rankled in the Beeb's write-up of tributes to Rob and Michele Reiner.

It flows into Trump saying the deaths were "very sad", as if it were a tribute like the others.

And as for "a swipe" - 90% of Trump's post was mockery and boasting.

I am a TV journalist so by definition, I watch A LOT OF TV.
I cannot think of a single drama in which this - or anything like this - has happened.
This geezer is just making shit up. And the increasingly laughably self-styled Newspaper of Record is publishing it.

This is fucking grim. Somebody invented a white guy, an "IT professional" named Edward Crabtree, who stopped the Bondi shooting and spread it all over the internet, which was picked up by AI agents and slop aggregation sites.

The real hero is a fruit stand owner named Ahmed el Ahmed.

Something else to notice beyond Ahmed's extraordinary courage: when he approaches the shooter, another person follows him. Courage multiplies courage. If we can find it in ourselves to stand up & do what needs to be done to stop evil, others will join us. It just takes one brave individual.

in fact,

I'm not kidding.

given that the industrial product being created is just bytes, what's the main reasons there can't be like just ~100 massive data centers in areas where it makes sense in terms of local power, few neighbors, etc? Are there high level physics/cs reasons where being physically proximate matters?
