Labour Together knew they could do crimes and investigate/smear journalists because they knew journalists aren’t impartial. They are really partisans participating in a war on the left. If a few get smeared for not helping enough, the other journalists will excuse it.
Why might Labour Together have thought they could do exactly this stuff and get away with it regardless, even if they did get found out? Could anything have happened that encouraged them to believe in their own impunity for all kinds of horrible behaviour.
