Terrible calls like that help to keep my belief in the integrity of the game. The officials are way too incompetent to be trusted to fix a game.

Given the clientele, that could end up being a disaster.
An unvaccinated person recently visited Ark Encounter, the Creationist attraction in Kentucky.

He then tested positive for measles.

State officials are now warning others they may have been exposed.

This is the logical consequence of science denial.

He's always a hypcrite. But there is nothing wrong with expressing support for Iranian dissent. What is reckless is declaring that you have the will and capacity to protect them when you have no fucking plan to actually put American forces on the ground to do so. That's the hype that kills.

President Trump is taking 325 mg of aspirin a day to prevent heart disease. His doctors advise him to take 81 mg. Both are wrong. Here’s why.

Frog hid behind the rock. He say the thing coming. It was big and brown. It was covered with sticks and leaves. It had two horns.

“Frog,” cried the thing. “Where are you?”

“Good heavens!” said Frog. “That thing is Toad!”

I stand by those but holy hell how did I forget "Sledgehammer"?!?

Number one with a bullet!
Oooooo!
That's a tough one.

"Don't Come Around Here No More" has to be up there.
"1985" too
"Save It For Later" (love wherever they filmed that)
"Runnin' Down a Dream"
"End of the Line" (the empty chair always gets me)
MTV is officially ending all of its music channels.

In honor of that, what's your favorite music video?

UGH.
So not surprising though.
Drops even in blue big cities.

And not a single county in Idaho, Louisiana, Oregon, Tennessee, Utah or Wisconsin meets the herd immunity measles vaccination threshold.
EXCLUSIVE: @laurenweberhp.bsky.social & I have spent the last year collecting school+county-level vaccination data from across the US and found that only about 28% of counties now have herd immunity for kindergartners from measles—that leaves about 5.2mn kids unprotected.

U.S. vaccination rates are plunging. Look up where your school stands.
Take a look to see what the kindergarten measles vaccination rates are in your area.

Introduce the kiddies to meta/recursion early!
“Hurry!” said Frog. “We will run and catch it.”

“No!” shouted Toad. “I cannot do that.”

“Why not?” asked Frog.

“Because,” wailed Toad, “running after my list in not one of the things that I wrote on my list of things to do!”

Heyyyyyy! My 19yo sitting-in-closet-for-12-years TiVo series 3 fired up and successfully completed Guided Setup and initial guide data load. To my surprise it was even able to tune WJAR out of Providence (though the rabbit ears are upstairs, so some extra height vs where it’ll end up.

Happy 58th, ya ecosystem-destroying fuzzballs!
On this day one of my favouite #StarTrek episodes happened as The Star Trek TOS episode "The Trouble with Tribbles" premiered, directed by Joseph Pevney and written by David Gerrold. It was Gerrold's first professional sale ever, and he created a classic.

Good for them!
Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

A leaked DoJ memo calls for prosecutors to charge people who film ICE with “domestic terrorism”

They don’t want their atrocities documented.

They don’t want a historical record.

They don’t want the world to know.

That’s why we have to keep filming. Keep speaking out.

Good for you, Brian. Good for you!
Don Henley, backstage after a Brian Wilson show telling Wilson how much his music meant, asked him to sign a first-pressing vinyl copy of "Pet Sounds." Wilson signed it: "Don, thanks for the great songs" and started to hand it back, but then decided to cross out "great" before returning it to him.
What's an insult you'll never forget?
