A quick first step to impose a personal tariff on US companies:
Switch away from using Google as your phone’s search engine.

Boycott US products where possible and let’s show them what isolation will be like.

If your government is going to be cutting the range of bikes available under salary sacrifice schemes, I assume you will be closing other loopholes?
Zero VAT on flights seems like an obvious start, especially for private jets.

If the UK government got its act together and had passport control on exit as well as for entry this nonsense wouldn’t happen.
And we could use it to ensure the tax exiles are not overstaying their tax free day allowance.
Somebody at HMRC needs to be canned for this idiotic ‘fraud-detection’ idea. And I fear future use of AI in welfare cases might well produce this kind of story regularly (as they have in Nevada for example).

Not one electrified line. Our country is a developing one. Still burning diesel to power trains.

For those who pay attention to UK politics, the Liberal Democrats and #LDConf

A bunch of TERFs tried first thing this morning to impose a transphobic policy on our internal elections (they wanted to exclude trans women from the gender balance criteria)

They failed, spectacularly.

Where do you even start?
Outsourcing cybersecurity rather than hiring the right people to manage the critical infrastructure.
Large software systems with “upgrade projects” rather than continual improvement.
This should be a case study in over-reliance on others.

As ever, the left must listen to the right’s “valid concerns” and accommodate their free speech, while the right uses that free speech to call for violence and hatred.

Talking with my son about the death of Charlie Kirk and the boy mentioned that this man was a role model to some of his friends.

Rather horrifying given the toxic masculinity this man spread.

Somehow, Reform is still held as a serious political party rather than a collective of nutters who have unfortunately coalesced into a single voting group.
Right, the debate has been opened to the floor, and we're going off-piste. Rupert, a Reform member from Reading, says a video exists of Klaus Schwab, the former WEF chief, saying he "is controlling and training up all the world leaders". Um, really?
