Sending gratitude to Native veterans on Veterans Day.
One of my most popular characters is Grampa Halfmoon, a U.S. Army veteran from a Cherokee-Seminole family, who appears in INDIAN SHOES and ON A WING AND A TEAR (both from Heartdrum). #VeteransDay

Half my week off is already gone. 😢 When I have time off from work, I'm not as productive as I want to be and I'm also not really resting because I'm stressing about getting things done around the house and all.

Made a blueberry buckle crumb cake to use up some oldish blueberries and it's very tasty.

I’ve read Kim Kelly’s work on labor for years. She’s treated her readers, teenagers and professors, with respect, while breaking it all down so it made sense. Thank you. A travesty to end the very thing, writing on politics and labor, that set Teen Vogue apart from all the others.
“Since 2018, labor columnist Kim Kelly brought the labor beat to teenage readers through her “No Class” column, covering everything from wildcat strikes to general strikes, the Gilded Age labor organizer Mother Jones to contemporary Amazon warehouse conditions.” 💔 thisislaborwise.com/teen-vogues-...
Teen Vogue's Closure and the Quiet Defunding of Worker Consciousness
Teen Vogue’s shutdown marks more than a media loss. This is a warning about how profit-driven consolidation quietly dismantles worker awareness and voice.

Gonna be that person: please remember that some of us have sensitivities/allergies to scents. If you're going into work or indoor spaces, please reconsider putting on cologne or perfume. Worse are "air fresheners" and the like. Is an artificial scent worth endangering someone else's breathing?

We've identified over 200 ICE Agents, employees and collaborators. None have been assaulted, as the US government claims.

This is freely available and verifiable information, unlike the wild claims from the Department of Homeland Security.

We are in the process of uploading over 200 more IDs.
ICE List – Put ICE on ice
The ICE List is an open journalistic project, created by Crust News, aimed at collecting and sharing information that can hold ICE members legally accountable.

My fingers can't do this much needlework anymore. Might just finish it as-is as a reminder that however bad I am at sewing now, I had even less skill before. At least it's got cheerful colors and some fabric remnants from my childhood.
Trying to distract myself by attempting to finish the Christmas crazy throw quilt top I made 20+ years ago with some embroidery. It's not going to be pretty, but I hope it will at least finally be done in time for this Christmas. That's if I can also figure out how to sew and quilt it. lol*sob*

If you’ve never read it, you absolutely should. Not a thing happening since 2020 has been a shock to me (Grief inducing? yes. Angering? yes. Shocking? No.), in part because of this book.

Also, in part because of Imani 🖤 please do yourself a favor & follow Imani on all platforms.

Yet ounce per ounce, probably one of the most vicious and terrifying predators on the planet (but also deadly cute!)

Read every word & share with everyone you know. This is real life here in Chicago. Americans need to know this grotesque reality & stand with us.
Kyle Kingsbury is not a journalist. He is not an op-ed writer.

He is a computer safety researcher.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.

In under 1600 words.
