As may likely become a familiar refrain from me as I repost most anyone challenging any incumbent: I know nothing about this candidate.
My friend @drannieandrews.com will be Lindsey Graham's opponent.
She is a pediatric surgeon who has performed spinal surgeries on children, running against a grownup with no spine. Dr. Andrews is poised to perform a full Lindsey-ectomy on the United States Senate.

This is the most accurate description of IAD's "people movers".
The first time I rode in one of these I thought we were in a room waiting for the bus. Turns out it WAS the bus.
A Trump nominee to the advisory board overseeing Dulles International Airport plans to push for an end to its signature “people movers,” saying the shuttles that drew headlines this week for a crash that hospitalized 18 people are outdated and dangerous.

@nytimes.com

Excuse me while I really enjoy the continued avoidance of simply calling the “bus-like vehicle” what they are actually called: “people movers”.

Also, I can confirm IAD does not in fact transport airports.

(Note for future stories: that other airport is simply “National”.)
OMG they’ve already rewritten the headline and subhead 🤣

Did @kaine.senate.gov really repeatedly use the phrase “moratorium on mischief”?

Does he even understand words?

This soft-pedaling gentlemanship needs to right go out of style, and further entrenches my current “disappointment”.

(Thank you for your patience as I publicly work through feelings.)

“mobile lounge”?

The only thing I know moving people in that fashion at IAD are properly called “people movers”.

Take back your fancy words right now NYT.
Trump crash mobile lounge
A mobile lounge carrying passengers crashed at Washington Dulles International Airport on Monday, injuring more than a dozen people and causing some damage to the terminal.

With completion of “The CIA Book Club” I had to prove my Eastern Bloc trip was not imagined.

I remember being fascinated with Solidarity, but certainly not understanding it in any depth. A younger me would be finding anything I could get my hands on to read.

So, suggestions welcome …

These patronizing external recriminations are so much better.

Thanks for further fortifying my growing belief we must move forward with as few incumbents as possible.

It might take a while, but just as I thanked @kaine.senate.gov for his help speeding this up, I so thank you.
The sooner we get past internal recriminations and back to fighting united, the better off we all are — the likelier our victory next November.

Are you a real live senator out here right now talking about “fighting united”?

Are you calling for senators to step aside? Do you have a progressive you’ve been mentoring so you can tell us about them and then step aside?

That’s all I can imagine anyone wants to hear right now.

I’m glad to pass this on, assuming those closer are now willing to give you up.

And, I’m choosing to be thankful for your vote, @kaine.senate.gov.

It should hasten our move away from establishment democrats not up to the task.

My vote’s for the taking.
This is far and away my pettiest Tim Kaine gripe but the Senator’s advance staff always deliver a bottle of Maker’s Mark that is for him only to fundraising events so he doesn’t have to do toasts with the cheap beer and wine the hosts provide and that always really irked me

With the disclaimer that I know absolutely nothing about this person, there does seem to already be at least one primary challenger.

The more the merrier I say.

Thank goodness for this story of the 1980s Polish Solidarity, an uplifting palate cleanser reading it directly after finishing “1984”.

And it adds perspective to the trip I took with friends to the eastern bloc, including Poland, just after the wall came down (and to my parents in letting me go!)

@kaine.senate.gov - one of the “wins” you’ve listed here is that an already existing law now must be followed?

I’m right.
I noted a while ago that my memory was shutdowns usually ended due to air travel issues (not pesky things such as paychecks and hunger). And was told I was wrong. But I’m right, right?

I’m surprised more people haven’t heard of Kat, so here’s a little look at her (and the kind of leaders we need today).

But also, please pay attention to this important message about food pantries.

Cash is King.
Until the end of the government shutdown, our campaign will be donating $2,500 a month to a food pantry in the Ninth District.

And to my fellow candidates, I challenge you to do the same:

I’d like to point out there are civilized countries where waiters leave you be with your meal and chosen companions, trusting that you will indeed reach out should you need something.
Obviously this is ridiculous as a policy for employees but also as a customer my blanket preference from any people working in any store anywhere ever is “leave me the absolute fuck alone”

Smiling?? Eye contact?? TALKING TO ME???? Absolutely not!!!!
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
