I am a climate scientist and this is correct.

As the planet warms, storms like the one today are getting stronger… and as the Arctic is warming twice as fast as the mid latitudes, it increases the risk of the “freezer door” swinging open.

This Eastern section of the subway is above ground and obviously snowed under right now.
I heartily doubt many shuttle buses are getting around either.
Line 2 Bloor-Danforth: No service between Woodbine and Kennedy stations due to weather conditions. Shuttle buses are running.

The whole thread.
One simple question I want every organization, especially governments, to answer.

Why are you so quick to rely solely on e-mail for billing and critical communications?

Because nearly every citizen is using a free e-mail service provided by a foreign corporation. Think about that.

You know what? I actually like this idea. Having email independent of your internet provider that has Canadian data residency == good thing.
Maybe we could even count it as defense spending. Win, win.
52. Instead of cutting Canada Post, expand it to invest in digital communications, including email (not Google), secure servers (not Amazon), secure data management (not Microsoft), and rural high speed internet, alongside traditional mail.

Do you ever see a twofer sale and think "Great. I'll get one of each flavour" only find at the checkout that to get the deal you have to get two of the SAME flavour?
Well that didn't happen at Loblaws today.
Two different flavors.. at the deal price.

Been looking for the right forum to ask this?
Is this a real thing I hear UK women saying they become "invisible" after age 50? Is it just UK? Is it anywhere else?
Because I've mostly hung around Canada.. and I've ALWAYS been invisible here.

This goes in the pile of stuff for my ex to pick up.
It now has 2 ex's and one dead person in it. Not bad for 35 years on.
As I recall, my husband's job at the wedding was to hold the cigarettes for all the bridesmaids..and the bride.

You cannot separate this from the geopolitical context. Canada has access to terrors that cannot be measured in raw military strength.

This must be seen for what it is - Carney telling Trump "Donald, you don't understand. You're locked in here with *us*."

Housing, housing housing.
Yes, he needs to throw more money at it, but there's systemic structural issues that need to be addressed.
Like the unlimited capital gains exemption.
Alright. Fine. Let's put together our list of things we think Carney should do and should stop doing. I'll compile it from the comments in a fresh thread, then we can all post it when we inevitably get asked what we think he should and shouldn't do.

We need to be building housing EVERWHERE. It's a big employer, not just of skilled trades.
So I agree with Rae that Chinese EVs are a red herring, but for different reasons.
