I often see people saying we have to be careful about using the term evil. But fuck it, if you support a policy that brings potential harm to a vulnerable minority or just makes their everyday life extremely difficult I'm going to call it how I see it. It's YOU that needs to take a look at yourself.

Yes I'm sure taking loads of drugs must be great but what is also quite exciting is going for a walk in remote woodland and stumbling across a lone inexplicable brutalist pillar.

There are over 18,000 types of lichen in existence. My personal favourite is ‘village bench lichen’, which devotes its entire existence selflessly to gradually making communal public seating more furry and comfortable.

All shares of this much-appreciated. Sorry if it's boring. Just another instance of me attempting to rehabilitate one of my books after my ex-publisher Unbound failed to pay me a large chunk of earnings from it, went into administration and took it temporarily out of print.
I'm giving away two signed copies of my (recently republished) book 21st-Century Yokel, with two postcards of this fab otters linocut by my mum, Jo.

Just repost this & pop a comment below to enter.

Almost certainly the best photo I will ever take from the southern edge of a moor at sunset as a vehicle progresses downhill towards me and the cold winter sky gathers its Byzantine thoughts.

Almost certainly the best photo I will ever take from an Iron Age Hill fort of the sun setting over an estuary as summer segues majestically into autumn.

If you think Heathcliff is the epitome of a romantic hero, you need to reread the book.

That man violently abuses his wife, locks up a teenager away from her dying father and forces her into a bad marriage so he get her money, hangs a dog, abuses his own son, delierately degrades Hareton...

Where to start, with a statement like this?

"Tim Ayres said the cuts were aimed at refocusing … CSIRO towards research priorities, such as critical minerals, iron & steel production in Australia."

From some rando down the bus stop, one would brush it off.

But this is from our Science Minister 🤯
CSIRO to cut up to 350 research jobs in major overhaul
After 440 positions were slashed last year, the CSIRO has announced more staff cuts across the country in a bid to remain financially viable.

Just finished watching the film Whiplash. It's on Netflix if you want to see and yes, in answer to a colleague, while the characters are fictional, it's every bit as real as studying music can be. Be warned. It's a really tough watch. Bloody hell that was timely 😞
