Just a loon. Fan of Moo Deng.
I have spent the last week in Chicago, in some ways a bike paradise compared to my home city, and have some good pics to share with the nerds and city government back home :)

I will never not remind people that the NY Times described cheese and tomatoes on a hamburger as a weird Californiaism and I filter all that paper’s takes through that lens.

Desperately begging rich assholes like Ned Lamont to let us have pro-housing policy too
The most suburban state in the country just abolished parking minimums unanimously and I’m supposed to pretend big cities in this country should still have them?

Will the Democratic Party finally start to realize that the days of the tired establishment are over?

Awesome New Haven Union Station adjacent housing project announced today bringing 470 desperately needed homes to our state

There are more homes in this single project than 154 of our 169 towns permitted in the 5 years from 2019-2023. #LocalControl #CTHousingCrisis
A $316.1 million project is coming to a hotspot CT train station. Think apartments, retail and more
Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Transportation Deputy Commissioner Laoise King today announced the pair of businesses that will be spearheading a $316.1 million community project.

Who’s running against Ned “I endorse sexual predators” Lamont?

It’s time for primaries.

Alas, if only there had been some kind legislation supported by a coalition of state-wide lawmakers and advocates that could begin to address this challenge

How much of my paycheck should go to rent? In Connecticut, it's hard to follow the advice
Keep your housing costs to no more than 30% of your paycheck, experts say.

Ned Lamont, ya done fucked it up
The main lessons to me of Mamdani’s win:

1. Democratic voters really are fed up with their fossilized, incompetent establishment.

2. Housing is by far the number one issue, and if you want to beat that establishment, own the housing issue by pledging to make it easier to build housing of all kinds

Imagine if the Democratic Party actually helped Zohran instead of trying to kneecap him at every step. A better party is immediately possible if they stop shoving money into the anti-trans combination Racism Dial/Money Toilet and instead get behind candidates people actually want.

I guess you could say the people who thought Andrew Cuomo ran a better campaign than Zohran Mamdani were sequestered in echo chambers and out of touch with what people offline wanted out of a candidate

In the words of Nelson Mandela: it always seems impossible until it’s done.

My friends, it is done. And you are the ones who did it.

I am honored to be your Democratic nominee for the Mayor of New York City.

So Ned Lamont killed the housing bill, endorsed Cuomo, and… Cuomo got crushed by a pro housing candidate.

Come on, Ned. Read the signs.

Don't let Lamont get away with running unopposed. Connecticut deserves a choice
Strong night for left:

—Mamdani will finish well ahead in 1st round.
—All challenged NYC Progressive Caucus councilors will win, that's 10 of them.
—Left may add new councilors (e.g. some AOC- or WFP-endorsed non-incumbents up)
—The more liberal (WFP-endorsed) candidates up in Syracuse and Buffalo

Lamont primary challenge likelihood up 12,000,000% after tonight’s NYC results??

I think there’s a massive lane in a Connecticut democratic primary for a person to say a) we need an affordable state and b) anyone who endorsed Cuomo is no longer fit for our highest office

"cross-endorsement" is an awesome concept and is very strong evidence for why ranked choice voting gives the electorate much better options than first-past-the-post

Maybe Lamont should have waited one more day to see if housing was an issue that would get people to the polls. His cowardice is going to ensure it is only an even more pressing issue at the next election than it is now.
man the cowardice of democratic leaders who refused to oppose Cuomo looks worse and worse right now. primary them all
