If I was going to stop it would've happened by now
Relatively popular late 2010s australian web cartoon sliding doors moment where these guys are making the new flagship adult swim series and michael cusack is doing ads for gerard rennick
Kinda funny that the makers of PHONy propaganda are based in the yuppie stronghold of Fitzroy in Melbourne/Naarm eh.

I respect the guy challenging littleproud because his reasoning is just "we'll lose senators if we need people to vote for us and we won't have shadow ministerial allowances to campaign with"

The becoming a whiny little bitch trap has been responsible for both Pauline Hanson's success and her never winning, so i wish them all the best with it
We need to talk about the rise of "smol bean fascism" where you have all the guns and the immunity but the really scary people are the ones with whistles and phone cameras and they're giving you generational trauma and ptsd by filming you killing people for no reason

every time i see a white guy in their fifties radicalized by the twitter algorithm into racism and extremism i think about how it's a total failure of the youtube algorithm to instead radicalize him into home brewing, elaborate A/V setups, or DIY solar

At some point there's a shift from the revival of aesthetics into an insistence the actual thing must always come back and unfortunately I think that's millennials
I think there might be a shift in the 1990s, with certain cultural figures arguing that 1960s pop culture was just as relevant for youth thirty years later. From then, there is arguably an assumption that pop culture is timelessly and always relevant (and to be revered).

Labor right makes the weirdest guys. Hastie's dad literally prosecuted a guy for heresy and he operates with way less pathos than Minns or Malinauskas
rights to enjoy Sydney city every weekend, Chris Minns edition: mass or church (?) or synagogue through Hyde Park.

don't siege Minneapolis, take it immediately
these guys are LARPing like siege commanders talking about "supply lines"

rightoids literally cannot comprehend the idea of a community caring for their own; these people live in Minneapolis their supply line is a five minute drive to the grocery store

Reminded of how the allies hired a bunch of ex gestapo guys to do counter intelligence and it mostly came to nothing because they were terrible at real work

one of the conditions of being a vassal is you need to reassure nice americans it's not their fault, but I think it's important to remember it totally is
When I say I don’t think the Americans are a reliable treaty partner or ally, I don’t mean ‘under this government’, I mean the American people as a whole who elected it, twice. I like Americans! I have met many! Americans are usually pretty cool, but as voters I fundamentally distrust them

The libs did the same thing with 1996 i reckon. Weirdest part is the aspirational outer suburban families are still there, it's just some of them are named Patel and that's apparently a deal breaker
The funniest thing about Labour is how they unlearned this point. Like New Labour’s whole thing was about trying to middle class and aspirational voters because all of their 1970’s voters had moved on. Like they literally forgot a lesson they learned.
It is very funny that at this point the main thing preventing however many years of Labour hegemony is Blue Labour psychosis based around wanting their voters to be people who have not existed since the 1970s

Pauline putting in 3 decades work building popularity as a kind of gormless everyman only to get undone by letting in a dozen charisma vacuum carpetbaggers who all want her to die and leave them the top job
I am quite happy if most of the Nats and a handful of Libs defect to One Nation, and in doing so destroy the orthodoxy of Australian political conservatism (including the Libs and the Nats) that has already been effectively dead for a decade. Too many on the left will shit the bed. You don't need to

It’s remarkable that their Republic has endured, violently yes, hypocritically definitely, but real, until now when everyone has realised norms aren’t self-enforcing. Which is why Liam Hogan Thought proposes an enforcer for constitutional propriety: Ann Twomey in a tank

This is the kind of shit that would make you completely outside the bounds of any ancient society, the gods bestow generational curses for violating hospitality
A few days ago, Fox News was whining about ICE agents getting heckled at a Mexican restaurant in Minneapolis.

Meanwhile, in the town of Willmar, ICE agents had lunch at a Mexican restaurant, waited until it closed, then confronted and arrested three workers as they left.
ICE agents ate at a Minnesota Mexican restaurant before arresting staff
Immigration law enforcement agents reportedly followed employees out of the restaurant after they closed for the evening

I've been in organisations where older members were incredibly annoyed at my cohort's lack of attendance on week nights etc. and it took me a while to work out men in their cohort were allowed, and expected, to just abandon spouses and children at home
Older generations spent a lot less time parenting. Millennial dads spend nearly as much time parenting as Boomer moms did. Millennial and Gen X moms way more.

Exactly like de baathification if the republican guard came out with 6 days training and fucked backs from carrying 30 kilos of tactical bullshit
It’s worth considering that an overnight dismantling of ICE in 2029 would release into the wild a whole herd of specialists in violence with scant other marketable skills.
