I did a session today, and this beautiful doggo was in attendance! So cute, & so chill! I would love a doggo but my lifestyle doesn’t suit having one yet.

In memes & videos, Amelia walks through London or the House of Commons, voicing nationalist & anti-Muslim rhetoric.

AI’s role in paying women less
It appears even AI chatbots are contributing towards the gender pay gap. A study last year found that the bots often advise women and other minorities to ask for significantly lower salaries than men....

I fell for Sydney too, especially landing at dusk. I love the bigness of the city centre & equally love the diversity & weirdness of its suburbia. I could live there but the whanau would never lol

Aotearoa academia, as we as a nation creep towards a more bicultural future that includes academic representation and partnership, I would expect people to have thoughts on this informed by the past 30 years of this nation. So I am sharing this.
The reason I asked this question is that colleagues I respect and trust in CL, for whom English is L2, apparently experience pressure not to cite papers written in their L1.

My actual opinions follow >>
Question for #AcademicSky about citational practice (please include your field in your answer):

Assuming you are writing in English, under what conditions do you cite work written in another language? Under what conditions do you avoid doing so?

First thought about the election date: November 7 is right when a lot of university students (mostly first time voters) will be finishing up and heading home for the summer. It’s really important to make sure your young people know what to do if they are out of their electorate on election day.
