Dude regularly works for Disney, DreamWorks, Netflix and CN so speculate away. But this sucks no matter which studio is doing it, and gross to think some major movie this year is running with a plagiarized image from ChatGPT.

After agents near Chicago killed a man, an officer asked if chief who would investigate. The answer: “You’re not going to investigate a federal officer”

Trump's election made Europe's far-right believe it was the future. For @theredoubt.net, I spoke to experts about how the 2024 election actually set back extremists in Austria — and why liberal politicians need not abandon their values (or immigrants) to win again. www.theredoubt.net/the-far-righ...
The far right is still not the future
From America to Europe, most people don't share the values of right-wing extremists.

A conservative activist who helped lead the far-right takeover of Texas school boards is running to join the Texas Senate in a special election next week. She faces a Democratic union leader who has mounted a surprisingly robust campaign.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

If you're asking how state and local actors should respond to ICE... well the first thing to watch out for is what's happening in blue states where the response is in Dem hands.
NEW: In his literal final hours in office today, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy vetoed two bills meant to protect immigrants in New Jersey from ICE.

Immigrants' rights advocates in the state are now expressed anger. Here's what we know:

What happened in Minnesota today was not a mistake. It's a deliberate and inevitable outcome of ICE operations - part of the authoritarian script for state violence against citizens.

I'm honestly just sick. If you can stomach watching any of this footage & still let the words "more training" escape your mouth, I cannot ever forgive you. These are state-sanctioned street executions. This is the training.

Once again: Focusing on their lack of training is a mistake. With "better training," their violence would simply cost more, and they would still kill whoever they wanted, but make it look more professional — to make people more comfortable, the way many of you are at ease with local police violence.

Big news in Colorado: Conservatives succeeded in getting a pro-ICE measure on the upcoming ballot.

This'll be a big one.
Colorado voters will be deciding this year on a conservative-backed constitutional amendment to require collaboration with ICE.

The SOS just announced that this proposal qualified for the ballot, background on it here from @coloradosun.com: coloradosun.com/2025/12/22/w...
Would Initiative 95 require police in Colorado to work with ICE?
Yes. If passed, Proposition 95 would require police to alert immigration authorities after some arrests, if a person's immigration status is unknown.
