Good engagement here comes from good posting - you post well, and people are gonna want to follow you and enjoy your good vibes. You don't have to game the system to succeed - just be a decent person and show your passion.

When I started taking bsky seriously, I had about 5K followers here compared to my then 30K on twt, and despite still having "less" here by comparison, I get consistently more commissions, interest, and continued support here than on twt, with far less punishment for marketing myself. (+)
For those who have just left twitter/X and are afraid for their financial security as they try to rebuild, I want to share my experience as it will hopefully provide a bit of comfort.
Earlier this year I ran a Kickstarter. Bsky outperformed Twitter for backers by more than 3x.

Had a long covid dip and went to the ER in case it was something worse yesterday and turned out the attending physicians were Castlevania fans so it was kind of fun on that front at least. Brain fog back with a vengeance though.

As someone that has worked on this, I’m pretty disappointed. This was MADE to be experienced in theaters. Also, my country doesn’t have Paramount+ so people here are just gonna end up pirating it instead of paying to see it in theaters like make it make sense 😭

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out.
This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

Everyone around me irl keep dropping in the fact that they use AI in every day life and work and it makes me feel like I’m going crazy especially when I push back and ask if it’s worth the consequences and the response is always, in the end, no 🫠 And yet this is just the average person now!

I have to be locked in until mid January. I miss drawing gay things but also the auto-pilot of studio work is easier than pulling things from myself at the moment.

Our car is gonna be okay. It’s gross with flood mud inside but the engine is alright… most of my friends and family are safe but some have lost everything and are traumatized…
