Good news I’m writing it
I feel like we need a thorough book documenting the path that led to GamerGate and ultimately resulted in our current fucked up state of politics (not sure if one already exists)

All I'm gonna say is, I think it would be good for this dude's long term health if he were to be declared medically unfit to serve as a senator. And also I think he sucks as a senator and as a person.

It's not about changing minds, it's about avoiding sacrilege. Because he's their idol.

This is literally the basis of my claim that MAGA is idolatry: They don't fear the truth. DT is above the truth to them. He is an idol, and the only thing they want to avoid is desecration of his name.
Look - and I'm being serious here - I don't get why they don't just release the files. He's survived everything else. Nobody is going to abandon him over this at long last, right? They can just find a way to explain themselves out of it. Why all this effort?!

Idk man, even if it was, I just don't think it's a reasonable ask to expect a pass here. Less that they didn't get the joke, more that it's not feasible to do moderation with that degree of nuance and plausible deniability. Lots of things to criticize about them, but this feels like a nothing burger

So many talented and wonderful people were let down by Future Class.

Younès in particular will always have my support, respect and love for standing by their principals and organising others to do the same.
Just want you to know that when I asked Geoff why he gave the silent treatment to an open letter written by his own "future of games" program (& co-signed by 3000+ industry peers), he replied:

"Because that's my show and nobody gets to tell me how I should use my platform". 💀💀💀
“Don’t gather some of the most brilliant activists in the industry, treat us like crap, and then expect us to do nothing about it.” After the Game Awards cancelled its Future Class programme, @alyssamerc.bsky.social talked to its former honorees

Any athlete targeted by this should get to beat a member of the IOC to death with their bare hands
The International Olympic Committee is set to ban trans and intersex women from competition. This is despite the fact that for 20 years, the IOC has allowed trans athletes to compete and only 1 has ever competed and none have ever won a medal.

pre-writing a devastating obituary for your enemy is god-tier hating of a kind you don’t often see anymore. renaissance haterism. beautiful stuff.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.
