My hill: kids are naturally creative and artistic. You give kids paper and something to draw with and you will get the wildest shit ever created. It's an actual tragedy & horrifically anti-human to be shoving AI on them and encouraging them to stunt that essential part of themselves.

The four arguments tackled:

Schools need to prepare students for the jobs of the future.

AI is a tool, just like a calculator.

AI won’t replace teachers, but it will save them time and improve their effectiveness.

Students are already using AI, so we have to teach them ethical use.

Rainshine. Like the way life is heavy & beautiful at once. This #kidlitartpostcard day, I’m finding sunshine in the people I love—I hope you are too! As an illustrator who specializes in stories about wrangling big emotions, I create characters who discover that small is mighty & tender is strong.

kind of obsessed with 2025 pride merch...I'm calling it cowardcore.
abercrombie and fitch 'pride mid rise jorts' which are literally just jorts with a rainbow tag inside the pant. abercrombie & fitch 'pride long sleeved striped button up shirt' that is...a green and white striped shirt. hello am I going crazy. beige terrycloth shorts from target. nothing about them indicates pride except that they are listed as such on the website. levi's 'pride icon' skirt which is literally just a short dark denim skirt. nothing to indicate 'pride' except that there is one image of a male model wearing it which technically you could do with any item of clothing but go off I guess

For SCBWI’s monthly prompt, I was excited to create an illustration of some children having fun! When I was a kid, my favorite music to dance to was upbeat jazz, so I imagine these kids dancing to something similar!

The time I spend on code reviews since my employer began allowing LLM code completion has quadrupled.

Spending all my time making sure others don’t screw up sucks and makes me resent them.
