I'm worried that the broader public isn't really understanding the Epstein Files. The problem isn't that everyone in the files is a secret pedophile, it's that all the people are corresponding with him because they *don't care that he's a pedophile*. It's a story of elite impunity.
You can look at the Epstein files and conclude that only bad people have billions of dollars, but I think it’s also possible that having billions of dollars cauterizes your humanity

sorry to belabor the point but it doesn't surprise me at all that many would at best compartmentalize, if not actively participate in Epstein's behavior because we live in a society that a) values access to money over everything else & b) doesn't believe victims, esp not when they're broke no-names

There are some wild conspiracy theories coming out of all this but I can't help but see the rich and powerful doing what they've always done, predate on the young and powerless, while aiding and abetting each other at every opportunity.

One of the things bothering me about how people are responding to the Epstein files is that there are tons of conspiracies being created and spread about what’s in them, rather than people just believing the victims like they could have been doing for years now

So much of this sleaze was in plain sight. When US Ambassador, Mandelson took Starmer for a photo opp at Palantir, a client of Global Counsel in which he had a huge stake. This was a monstrous conflict of interest and it was all public domain. Why did Starmer think it appropriate to go?
