The truth is not "more nuanced," the truth is that none of these people are narco terrorists.
GÜIRIA, Venezuela (AP) — One was a fisherman struggling to eke out a living on $100 a month. Another was a career criminal. A third was a former military cadet. And a fourth was a down-on-his-luck bus driver.

Trump has accused boat crews of being narco-terrorists. The truth, AP found, is more nuanced

In 4 years there should absolutely be prosecutions over decisions like this, there is no return to “normalcy” until staffers and leaders are held responsible
The Trump administration floated a new plan to deport Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia for a second time, after he was wrongfully deported to El Salvador in March. Lawyers for the Justice Department said on Friday that the African nation of Liberia had agreed to take him in.
Trump Officials Float New Plan for Abrego Garcia: Send Him to Liberia
The proposal was the latest twist in a byzantine saga that has transformed the Salvadoran migrant into one of the best-known symbols of President Trump’s aggressive deportation agenda.

As usual with this issue, Harris is calling for a compromise that already exists. Every sporting body has standards for how long athletes must be on hormones before they can compete as women.

The problem isn’t that we’re ignoring ‘reasonable concerns,’ the problem is that republicans are lying.

the gall of doing this when many of these *exact same* parents also claim to have "legitimate concerns" about gay adoption, or their children learning about how some kids have "two moms" or "two dads"
Buttigieg said parents have legitimate concerns.

To be clear: If you cannot be relied on to unequivocally defend transgender kids, you can’t be relied on to defend anyone or anything.

Sometimes you learn about some amazing public service that was nixed 50 years ago and wonder who could’ve thought getting rid of it was a good idea
This week will be pivotal for the future of PBS and NPR, as the Senate plans to vote on ~$1.1 billion in funding.

I spoke to station directors in South Dakota and Alaska about what this could mean:

I'm baffled at how Philly government considered members of DC 33 - particularly sanitation workers, 911 operators & Water Dept. workers - "essential" during the pandemic but not essential when they ask for a living wage in the city where they work which also has the highest wage tax in the nation.

As the June 30 state budget deadline draws closer, it’s not just SEPTA facing a fiscal cliff. The other 32 fixed-route transit systems across the commonwealth are at risk — which means the Pennsylvania Senate Republicans blocking funding will hurt their own districts, too.
Not just SEPTA: Public transit is in trouble all across Pennsylvania, including in GOP districts.
SEPTA isn’t the only mass transit agency in Pennsylvania that’s hurting. Meet the 32 others.

if i could snap my fingers and force all journalists everywhere to implement one linguistic tic i think i'd mandate "cars (which kill more than 3,000 people every day)"
Cars, which kill hundreds of New Yorkers every year, are allowed to go 10 mph above the speed limit before they get ticketed by speed cams.
Lyft initially declined to comply with Mayor Adams's proposed e-bike speed limit, pledging instead to slap speedometers and let riders self-regulate.

But that's before Deputy Mayor Randy Mastro stepped in and called the bikes "an emergency threat to life and property." buff.ly/ZOq4T0g
