I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

1) just how long ago did I read the first two books in this series

2) did I actually like them or was I lying to myself

3) how many times do I need to gently remind myself I do not have to read this book before I listen

If you are in Seattle, please go patronize this store because this is amazing content/promo 😂 (laughing to keep from crying, and I do kind of low-key want that orange spider plant I have never seen that before)

The Yahara, although tbh it’s just the tiny river that goes between two of the lakes, and I’m not 100% certain that I’ve…well, I guess I’ve driven over it 🤔 maybe I should go visit it on purpose this spring.

Now, if you want to talk home *lakes*…
My favorite Twitter prompt was "RT this with your home river," so reskeet this with your home river.

Mine is the Patuxent.

Customer: I’m okay with the long turnaround, so long as I can pay at pickup

Me (intending to allow her to pay after, but waiting first to see her reaction): well, I do usually do prepay

Her: what. What if you close permanently during that time?

🤨🤨 thank you for your vote of confidence, I guess?

Amazing synergy that I was deconstructing a sweater (to reclaim the yarn) and quietly humming “if you want to destroy my sweater” under my breath, when @thisamericanlife.org podcast came on, and it was the episode called If You Want To Destroy My Sweater, Hold This Thread As I Walk Away

I keep reading these self-help-adjacent books, and they’re all like “DW if you are struggling to keep up with you full time job, second job, activism work, caregiving responsibilities, family bonds, exercise program, volunteer work, political canvassing, home repair projects, and meditation.”

Maybe don’t accidentally send me a possibly confidential email if you don’t want me to keep it or forward it or whatever, eh? Maybe double check those email addresses before hitting send.

Usually I think it’s a fun little easter egg when a host from one of my podcasts is unexpectedly on a different one (either as a guest or bc they have a new job), but the host of my exceedingly serious investigative journalism podcast is now a host of my light-hearted travel podcast, and it’s wild.
