The funny thing is the other side does this all the time as well, that’s why they thought ACORN was behind Obama’s win and not that he was a generational political talent with a compelling message

People want to believe that the GOP’s electoral success in red states is the result of dirty tricks and gerrymandering instead of the sincerely held beliefs of a majority of the population because a mechanical issue is easier to fix than wrestling with how to make people not believe what they do.

If you feel like the phenomenon of "Bringing back woke" is in any meaningful way permission to become more progressive, or if your general positions have moderated in the past five to ten years in such a way that it could be "brought back" by political popularity, you are not even a little bit woke
"my least woke opinion is---"

That's enough. We've had enough people indulging in the "thrill of a little conservatism", as a treat. Of considering reactionary thought to be a salacious and taboo in a world descending into reactionary mania.

Give me your MOST woke opinions. We're bringing it back.

The absolute funniest instance of the 20 year nostalgia cycle is Michigan State Football having another coach named John Smith and this second one is somehow even worse.

it’s really weird that trey parker and Matt stone are extremely self-congratulatory specifically about now engaging with politics in their work when they were doing that before except funnelling their audience towards creating the hellhole they now directly contend with??

How is it just now coming out that Jeffrey Epstein had a brother that he discussed his blackmail on Trump with, who is still alive?

The craziest thing about the Bubba thing is that apparently there's a guy who hates Trump who could testify about it

Eventually k12 teachers are going to lose the arms race between LLM detectors and LLMs and will be dragged kicking and screaming into the mid 1970s or so when education academia figured out that essays were an unfair assessment method that enabled hyperliterate kids like me to coast on 0 effort

The thing about Mamdani is that he’s a talented politician but not otherworldly or one in a billion, he’s just a competent guy with popular ideas who ran against an entitled piece of shit and to me it’s a lot more optimistic to imagine 1000 campaigns like his than to view him as a unique phenomenon

Ro Khanna saying this makes me genuinely wonder "Wait is Chuck Schumer actually good at his job?"
Senator Schumer is no longer effective and should be replaced. If you can’t lead the fight to stop healthcare premiums from skyrocketing for Americans, what will you fight for?

The disturbing thing here is how many people are demanding Democrats also play dominance politics more or less because it's working for Republicans, and then justifying it by saying there are no real differences between liberals and conservatives
It's dominance politics. It's not enough to defeat your opponents on policy, you have to humiliate them. Knifing Democrats in the back who just extended a hand to you in compromise and friendship is about humiliating them and showing how foolish and powerless your opponents are.
If I were Mike Johnson's comms staff I would point at the knife the Senate Dems shoved in their base's back and say outright "there will never be a House vote on ACA subsidies."

Okay but the American political system IS listening to voters. Right now it's listening to the voters that put Republicans in charge.
What are voters supposed to do when neither of the parties are listening to them?
