Yes!! Manchin and Sinema helped Dems confirm judges and pass the IRA. They’re awful, unreliable drama queens and they won’t be missed, but any Republican replacement is going to result in a country lurching further to the right.

Also, I think a lot of political commentators know all of this, deep down. It's just easiest now to say "Well, the primary is in two years, so what's the harm in keeping mum?" It's conflict avoidance - easier to go along to get along. But the harm is real and profound.

The problem people have, ultimately with the "Vote blue no matter who" discourse this far ahead of the election is the fear that by agreeing to be reasonable, they will be discounted.
This is how, by and large boomers parented, so I get it, but that's also why replicating that dynamic is fucked.
