You didn't say that in as many words. I admit misinterpreting because I'm toggling to a different "fuck rural America" tab of skeets. However, you are talking about "reducing car dependency", which will inevitably infringe on the right to travel. Congestion pricing on public roads is exactly that.

Theres a lot of behaviors i will excuse and even defend if the person who is doing the thing is marginalized on a large scale or even within the interaction. Composure is not the be all end all. But I'm done tolerating miserable people who need to invalidate the stuff that makes other people happy

Now that ive gone through the process of having to understand my body, my diet, my mental health triggers and how to manage unmasking in a way that doesnt make me anxious (a YEARS long process that will never truly end) all I want to do is help others figure that out because its done so much for me

Slop anxiety has been ruining Fandoms for at least a decade. Its miserable when a community around some media property is full of people who can only talk about who arent on board
Avatar’s cultural relevance discourse is an expression of slop anxiety, the worry that most people don’t actually want something interesting like you do, and you know what? It’s fine if they don’t. Cool stuff still gets made and you get to enjoy it.

Realized ive been looking at this AI backlash all wrong. We are 6 months, tops, from China just putting their propaganda machine entirely into AI at which point anyone being honest about blacklisting any creator who uses it will dry up the well of content for combat posters on BSky

I see there’s a post about microplastics going around with a photo of drinking straws, so here is my semi-regular reminder that the 3 biggest sources of microplastics are tires (45%), synthetic clothing particles (35%) and paint (~10%).

This sort of absolutism is a huge turn off for some folks, myself included. Maybe I'm a jackass contrarian, probably I'm a jackass contrarian, but I'm trying to find ways to express my frustration with this stuff in a way that people can understand and internalize with minimal conflict.
I think a key problem is that to most critics, it must be everything. It has to destroy the environment, eliminate every job, enable a fascist takeover, melt our brains, all while being a uninspired, unremarkable piece of boring technology that also doesn't work.
