when i was a little kid and we sang it in school, I just assumed that the strangers never came down from Rocky Top because they enjoyed the warm southern hospitality so much
The Trump regime is reminding some people in rural areas there’s a reason they hated Feds so much they killed a couple of them in the second verse of “Rocky Top”
Trump is badly losing the war over ICE, not just on the streets, but also in the culture. As Bad Bunny shows, this has become a culture war unto itself. Trump-MAGA's initial hubris has been utterly deflated.

When Ossoff first ran for the House, I went to the first fundraising house party he held, and wrote him the first check at that party.
I’ve had my issues with him since (and doubt he’s got the stones to lead in doing what needs doing), but I’ve always been impressed with him.
