Award-losing graphic designer and WordPress knower. I like transit maps, 80s architecture, bad puns, and abandoned freeways. I have a serious real job, but I also made that stupid track you liked on a Failrace stream. He/him, YYJ,
Today I discovered that my eldest enjoys the song “Cough Syrup” by
the Butthole Surfers.

Of all the things I had left lying around my parents house, the Butthole Surfers’ 1996 album “Electriclarryland” was not something I expected my teenager be excited to inherit.

I’ve been trying to find the Ken Burns Baseball documentary box set on DVD for ages.

I got so close – but not quite – this afternoon at Value Village.

(Four of the tapes are still sealed)

I would like to begin this tedious and petty thread by going on the record that I like the TransLink system map. It does a lot well, including showing different service frequencies. And It’s a step up from the previous version.

That being said.

Since it debuted in 2013, it has not been cared for.

Does anyone have access to the 1981 Urban Transit Authority pre-West Coast Express commuter rail proposal? I’ve seen livery mockups and a map, but I’ve always wondered if anyone ever put the entire report online.

Extremely niche fun transit fact:

• Hudson Williams graduated from Langara College, which is served by TransLink route 49.
• Hudson Williams graduated from Sa-Hali Secondary School in Kamloops, which is served by BC Transit routes *4 and 9*.

Talking About Transit: Trolley Documentary Screening and Discussion
Did you know Victoria once had 39 trams (or "trolleys") with rail lines reaching far and wide? It's hard to imagine in our car-dominated world, but we could shift back to better transit in Victoria. C...

Otherwise, sorry to the random person who looks like @webmeisterbud.com from the back.

Big caveat here is that a huge chunk of NHL and MLB players are not American and cannot vote. So I don't love the statistical breakdown here for those leagues if you're trying to extrapolate the percentage of baseball or hockey players in the league who *support* Trump.
Using public voter files, Peter Lutz takes a first-of-its-kind look at partisan registration among pro athletes by league.

The Metaverse is a fun and recent example that when tech leaders present something as not only desirable but inevitable, they are talking out of their asses. It's our choice whether or not to go along with them.

In this case, we didn't. Now let's do "AI."
