The abjection of womanhood resides in the role carved out for women, in their being defined not just as the 'opposite' of men, but as fundamentally deficient, as representing a lack, bearing a void and a nothingness where men are and have. Biological difference becomes social construct, a tangible distinction elevated to irreconcilable identities. In doing so, 'woman' becomes everything 'man' isn't ... and also, everything 'man' cannot be. Everything 'man' cannot sink to the level of.

Okay, you cannot make this up, but the word "kothi", here, the word right after the FIRST slur in the list, basically just means "guy who wants to take it up the ass".

Apparently an 8-year-old WaPo article did not have the secret sauce to speaking respectfully about third-genders, shockingly.

In everyday usage, however, terms such as "hijra," "kothi," "kinnar," "shiv-shakti" and "aravani" are more common, depending on which region of the country one is in.

In case you're wondering, you can absolutely end up in similar situations without lying to a man about being trans or even having sex with him. Those are both optional. You can get wolf whistled and then he'll try and kill you for "tricking him" into harassing you. That's a thing that happens.

Trans masc people if you are being asked to do sensitivity reader work for trans media you have exactly zero business weighing in on the accuracy, sensitivity & complexities of trans fem issues. You should be demanding they hire another sensitivity reader & make sure a trans woman gets paid.
