I don't doubt that some women feel unsafe walking in the dark, but this article would have been much improved if the writer had included the information that most violence against women is committed by people we know and not by randoms on the street.

A while back I was googling to find out if a fairly obscure composer was married - there was no reference to a wife in his brief Wikipedia page, for example - and I got an AI response not just of her existence but her name, sourced to no where and not found of any of the first page of real results.
