Maybe the worst part of NYT brain is this tortured method of explaining why publishing a neo-Nazi's nothingburger hacked documents is correct, but a sex trafficker telling people the sitting president of the united states loves sex trafficking only becomes newsworthy when it's revealed the right way
The emails that you’re seeing now are news in themselves, but that’s because of how they’re coming out—a congressional committee released them—& the context in which they’re being viewed. A guy emailing a reporter talking about old girlfriends or saying someone is “dirty” is not a whole news story.

The PS2 truly is the best console ever because it is constantly becoming more powerful. Each time we say something "looks like a PS2 game" we're talking about a game of a higher fidelity than the last. What the PS2 is capable of in 2025 is so far beyond what it was capable of in 2003. That's amazing

insane to think about but Jingle Bells was written for a Coke ad in 1947
there are some songs which feel so much like traditionals that it's a little alarming when you find out someone wrote them in the 20th century. Long Black Veil was written in 1959!

i visited Black Canyon of the Gunnison this time of year a few years back and the drive through the San Juans was probably the prettiest thing I've ever seen
It is raining gold on the San Juans. Probably peak color for the season as rain moves in this weekend.
