this is the Little Bilham rule and it's a big time-saver
If someone is on Bluesky using their real name as their handle, a photo of themselves as their avatar, and an affiliation with a university or media outlet in their bio, you can just block them on sight and you will never regret doing so

For most of the people I know the huge difference between physical stores and streaming platforms is that small physical stores rely on heavy users and treat them well, for streaming platforms one subscription is as profitable as the next

The thing about those 90s Starman comics is that they're just not very good
I used to listen to so many podcasts but about half of them became unlistenable during the last 5 years and the other half just stopped putting out more than an episode per year. All that I've got left is "Age Of Napoleon" and "A History of Rock and Roll in 500 Songs"

I had to sign a birthday card for one coworker, and a sympathy card for another coworker, and it was more difficult than it should have been to keep them distinct in my mind and not write "Happy birthday on the loss of your father" in both cards

I didn't discover HMHB until like 20 years ago, at the height of the MP3 blog era, when I heard their cover of "Song To The Siren" -- still my favorite version of that song. I loved "Trumpton Riots" for years but I didn't know until today that Trumpton isn't an actual place in the Liverpool suburbs

A problematic figure is Osama bin Laden, e.g., his letter to the American people is a problematic text, at least in a certain context. Makes some good points; paid for the killing of a lot of civilians. That's a Problem
