There will never be any reduction in the need to materially stop releasing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

The laws of physics do not change depending on geopolitics or vibes or elections: it will always make sense to stop thickening the heat-trapping blanket above our heads

Adaptation without mitigation is not enough. Ultimately, we need to reach net zero, to prevent further increases in global temperature and stabilise risk.

Falling short of that, many might soon be priced out of insurance and mortgages.

Climate change will send home insurance spiralling. Here’s how to control costs
Insurers rely on sophisticated catastrophe modelling to estimate risk exposure — and as climate risks are rising, so are the costs for protection.

OMG Coffs Harbour Nannas show no mercy at their weekly vigil outside Forestry Corp NSW today.

FCNSW have been exposed (by activists) as having amended 3 years of sustainability reports, dramatically reducing the reported yield from native forest logging since 2021.

Add the Paris Climate Accord to the „firmly defend“ category - climate stability is a precondition for preventing societal collapse.
„Gradually, and then suddenly“ also applies to climate change once we cross tipping points.

My day is not complete without reading Letters from an American. Today’s letter is particularly pertinent. Ruth Carlson’s Silent Spring inspired me to study Botany and Ecology, to do research on pollution and solutions based on environmental management standards.

So many questions to consider before blue carbon could be counted in the national inventory. Where to set the baseline? Over what timescales would increased carbon be stored? What are the risks of reversal? More important to protect marine biodiversity so it continues to do the job it is doing now.
