Houston and the Permanence of Segregation is out!

Historian and professor on weekdays. Ororo Munroe been my homie. My posts are my personal views and/or evidence-based research. I do not speak for or represent my employer in any capacity here.
Okay, but, dear liberals, you're missing the forest for the trees: the Affordable Care Act was, in fact, a compromise that hinged on health insurance remaining a capitalist marketplace.

Democrats have repeatedly abandoned a public option. Biden campaigned on it and then did nothing for 4 years.

A new study shows rents for low-wage Atlanta tenants are rising *9 times* faster than for wealthy renters.

The affordability crisis is everywhere: housing, healthcare, food, electricity, survival itself.

And the party that won big on "affordability" last week just turned around and surrendered it.
Study: Rents for low-wage Atlantans rose 9 times faster than for high earners
Rents for suburban workforce housing in the metro Atlanta region increased by almost 20%, while rents for luxury units increased by 2%, a study said.

Caving on a deal that doesn’t fix health care is, and always has been, a giant betrayal of the American people.

Hold the line. Save health care. I’m a NO on anything that doesn’t extend ACA subsidies.

Article says private jets are 1/6 of all traffic handled by FAA and entire reduction in FAA load could be shouldered by grounding private jets. No need to affect commercial flights.
These millionaires have a suggestion for the FAA: Cancel all private jet flights during the shutdown
Private jets make up one in six flights handled by the FAA, and taxpayers already foot the bill for their 'jet setting,' says Patriotic Millionaires.

It’s left out so many more subtle supremacy ploys. For example bathroom & beauty products that were intentionally designed to ruin the health of melinated hair & skin. Photography techniques that compliment my pale pasty complexion but makes an actor like Denzel appear dull and drab

A few big ones I don’t see there:
1. Believing people who aren’t white are born more prone to crime or anything else.
2. Same for (bogus) IQ obsessions about who’s superior, inferior..
3.Assuming other race groups have inferior/lesser cultures than white people.
4.Teaching, pushing any of the above.

"Why don't people support welfare programs?"

Racism. More specifically, anti-Blackness.

White folks asked about who welfare serves overestimate the number of Black people on welfare. Not only that, but just the mere THOUGHT of who welfare supports led less white people to support it. #blacksky
