I think you're seeing the consequences of the last 20ish years of reboots and legacy sequels in this sentiment. People are gunshy to reboot now and would rather try to continue without having to create a new thing only to say that new thing is its own thing.

We, as a society, need to let go of using brunch as a pillory.
This is on us. Americans are all still shopping, brunching, indulging, vacationing. Still not mass boycotting, daily protesting, general striking. then pissed off dems won't act with the zero power we did not give them. Grind all but critical small biz spending to a halt then we gripe
