Some of these pictures from the Oval Office are giving some real "The Admiral" vibes.

Really rather enjoyed CHESS on Broadway. Great cast, cool staging, a weird time capsule of unheard ABBA songs. A really fun staging of “One Night in Bangkok.”

The choice to use a photo where the central figure is not the deceased person but a dog, and not even the dog she actually worked with, for the obit is... something.

The Brotherhood of Satan asks "What if Manos The Hands of Fate" was good? Satanists, kids, long driving sequences, evil toys, a handsome priest in a Notre dame sweater.

Rewatched LIFEFORCE for the first time after watching a lot of Hammer films. I think it clicked a little bit more for me that Hooper was straight up doing a loose remake of Quatermass and the Pit. Say what you will about Cannon, Menahem Golan knew a hit when he saw it. Some images from LF and Q&tP

Watched The Haunted House of Horror last night, a British horror with Frankie Avalon who trades swinging London parties for a haunted house. Not great, but Jill Haworth and Gina Warick in amazing 60s dresses is worth the price of admission.

Had a good time with Kavalier & Clay at the Met. Trends more opera than comics but does some cool stuff to evoke comics. Great score! Cool sequences. The Escapist dance fought Nazis to applause. Good stuff.

The greatest horror musical ever made.

WITCHFINDER GENERAL was very good. The 88 Films 4K is beautiful. Ian Ogilvy is beautiful. Vince Price hands in a phenomenally understated performance that real sells the banality of evil. The location shooting! There's a dissolve from a wave crashing on the shore to a burning pyre that I clapped for

If you see this, quote with an image from a game that released the year you were born.

I am literally as old The Legend of Zelda, which released on my birthday in Japan.

Rendar unto Xizor, baby. The real hero of Star Wars is here. He looks a bit like a Nicolai Coster Waldau fan casting but it’s a good figure. Now I gotta find my Xizor…
