Watching everything this administration is doing right now, I’m starting to realize the government shutdown is a feature, not a bug for them.

Simply an excuse to remove the (nominal) oversight of the congressional branch while the executive does whatever it wants.

Nothing is such a perfect snapshot of the state of our union due to the shutdown than to watch the Canadian and British air forces stand in for the U.S. Navy and Air Force at the Huntington Beach Air Show.

I think today is the last day to buy this sweet, cozy, spicy, romcom novel, set in Chicago, for only $1.99 on Kindle! You can’t buy a pumpkin spice latte for that. 😊 Read it before it becomes a Hallmark movie! amzn.to/4mHob3u

The "AI" responses that Google gives about me and my work are consistently error-prone, which I know because I am me. If I know Google's "AI" responses give incorrect answers about things I know about, I can't trust it to give correct answers about things I don't know. So, no, I don't use it.
I’m surprised you don’t use ai answer engines in research you currently do with Google

This one absolutely guts me. I’m literally crying right now. She was my idol growing up. The icon she was for women in STEM and the force she was for conservation cannot be overstated.

May she wander in forests of discovery forever. 💔

It’s very clear that the advancement of civil rights in the U.S. was the main driver of the current anti-democratic, anti-science, anti-free speech “conservative” movement.

Really worth the read.
Short 🧵
When I taught South African history a couple of years ago, I spent a week talking about mining and labor struggles. One of the main features of the initial stages of both gold and diamond mining there (this is pre-Rhodes) was that anyone could own a claim, regardless of race.
I agree with much of this thread, but I think it needs to be said: if unity is the way to get around fascists, we need to fucking unify, and that means at this stage, swiftly discouraging the wedge issue dividers in our own party.

Tattoo artists and people that own tattoo parlors will always be hot. Tech bro billionaires will always be not.
“Owner of an AI company” seems to be the lazy, go-to romance hero job of 2025, and I’d like to just make the case for bringing back tattoo artists.

I wish this wasn’t so true but yeah, tinnitus can be like one of those 13 year cicada broods emerging. The “song” is deafening.
If there’s one upside to cicadas, it teaches normies what tinnitus can feel like.

The fact that this is all spray painted plastic stuck to those doors says so much.

He has always favored tacky, bargain basement dictator chic, but it’s depressing to see him apply it to our White House.
He’s destroying the country and the white house

I just saw an IG from Abby Jimenez saying she won’t be able to attend SLC due to scheduling conflicts and just general exhaustion, and it got me to thinking about just how much the demands on Romance authors have escalated over the last several years.

I would be ashamed not to stand up for trans folks, not just because there are trans folks I like and love, but because everyone should get to live with the same personal freedom and dignity I get simply for existing. Who are we if we do not wish for others every right and privilege we have.
Thank you for being a straight cis man with some amount of fame and platform who pushes back on that sort of thing. Marginalization usually only changes when people NOT in the marginalized group start to push back on the hate and move the Overton window.
