I wholeheartedly vouch for Andy and the work he does! Let’s get him back up and running so he can get back to work.

I got $100 on it. Can anyone match me?

I’m convinced this is why they killed covid aid so quickly

It was breaking the narrative of government inability
How many times in your life have you heard a member of Congress or someone on TV say “we can’t afford it” when talking about something small but very important? It’s been happening my entire life. We can’t afford it? They’re putting seven times the annual budget of the EPA into immigrant detention.

People who may want to have children in the future should bear this in mind: tear gas can have serious consequences for female reproductive health. The data on this isn't great but I would at least recommend ensuring you have a quality respirator or mask on at all times.

To put this in no uncertain terms: if you are gassed enough without protection you may lose your ability to bear children entirely.

this is actually an insane email in the Epstein files. JE refused to invest in some person's business and forwarded a marketing email from Kickstarter basically saying "ideas are cheap". Here's the response this mystery person sent back

“Dems in disarray” is very much real but in a strictly pathetic and largely self inflicted sense
NEWS: No one filed to challenge two conservative/Republican justices on the Nevada supreme court who are up for reelection this year. The deadline was a few days ago.

They will run for new terms unopposed.

Whenever you see a story about how liberals aren't making their conservative peers feel welcome enough, this is who they're talking about.

With audio, I didn't realize that the original post didn't have sound.

Crow Creek is the rez across the river from my rez, Lower Brule in South Dakota. There is so much pain and trauma in both Fort Snelling and Crow Creek.

I genuinely have no idea how to convey this to the American people, but I think the biggest impediment to any kind of immigration reform is that people are convinced that "legal" and "illegal" are immutable, intrinsic categories instead of a rapidly-shifting arbitrary constellation of regulations.

The California State University system spent $16.9 million last year giving ChatGPT to all students, faculty, and staff. We are asking the CSU chancellor not to renew the contract with OpenAI when it expires.

Anyone can sign the petition — link below!
The CSU/OpenAI contract is set to expire June 30, 2026.

Sign this petition: https://actionnetwork.org/petitions/cancel-chatgpt-edu-invest-in-humans/ for the CSU NOT to renew the contract and to use the savings to protect jobs at CSU campuses facing layoffs.

I edited a @thexylom.com story which cited research that found the tear gas concentration in Portland during George Floyd protests was high enough to cause severe and irreversible health effects, including asthma, shortness of breath, and panic.

And in Nepal, hospitalizations more than doubled:

In Gaza, hunger doesn’t knock — it moves in.
It tucks the children into bed with empty stomachs.
It whispers through the night louder than the bombs.
We need food. We need safety. We need the world to care.
Please don’t scroll past our pain 💔🙏🏻

I think the simple truth about the AI bubble is that, in the case of OpenAI Anthropic, both say they “train” models and spend billions on “training“ that will somehow have an endpoint, when in reality, training models is a never-ending opex. On an economic level, inference and training are the same.

“At a certain point of wealth, what is being pursued seems not to be wealth, but the ability to make other people suffer. What's being pursued is immunity from human decency; the ability and even the right to be depraved with impunity.”
Today I wrote about the Epstein files, the abusiveness intrinsic to the billionaire mindset, and our culture's enabling instinct to permit depravity as a privilege of power.

"Where does it all end?" That's what's often asked. Rarely asked is "how do we end it?"

The emerging narrative from the people who worked for Biden seems to be "we debased ourselves repeatedly and violated our own laws for Israel and Israel won't even say thank you".

I spoke with Annie Farmer, one of the Epstein survivors who has advocated for transparency. She was distressed by the failed redactions:

“It’s hard to imagine a more egregious way of not protecting victims than having full nude images of them available for the world to download”
