Every time Covid and learning loss hits the news, people act like the only factor is folk staying home and learning online, rather than… Living through a global mass death event.

Canadian employers have been ordering workers back to in-person work through blanket return-to-office policies.

On top of harming workplace equity, these policies have repercussions as children head back to school and respiratory illness season looms, write three experts. 🦠 #canlab

This is ridiculous. During the by-election I heard over and over again about how hard it is to find swimming lessons.

Too many kids are falling through the cracks. If parents can't teach their kids how to swim in our public pools, how are they supposed to learn?

"We have condemned what has caused this situation. It starts with Hamas"

France's recognition of Palestine was the subject of the first question. Incredibly, Carney mentioned (I think) Israel only once in his response.

Carney -- & Canada -- are absolutely complicit in this genocide.

Yes. 5 years in, I'm surprised by how people out there still don't realize that a respirator mask, such as an N95, protects the wearer from others *as much* as it protects others from the wearer. Don't overthink it; pop one on in public buildings, planes, trains, etc. and avoid respiratory illness.
Went to a few flea markets today. I was the only person masked but two different unmasked people came up and mentioned that they liked my face mask and that it was smart to wear a mask right now with everything going around. Folks, I am begging you to realize you can mask to protect yourselves too.

Very disappointed the Senate rushed this.
A coalition of environmental groups quickly condemned the passage of the controversial major projects bill, saying it erodes democratic principles, runs roughshod over Indigenous rights, shuts Canadians out of decisions that could affect them and puts the environment at risk.

Clean water did not make kids sicker. Clean air will not make kids sicker.

I can't believe that public health even thought to flog immunity debt to cover their mass-infecting asses, and, even worse, that people fell for this logic-defying statement.

Sickness. Is. NOT. Health.

This is extremely worrying both substantively and procedurally.

Substantively: it shows ABC will not stand up for social housing.

Procedurally: it shows that the City of Vancouver won't defend its own processes, and will cave to well-funded NIMBY pressure. This creates huge uncertainty.
Under ABC leadership, the City of Vancouver has surrendered in the legal fight over the supportive housing development at 8th and Arbutus.

Yes they are. Cases, hospitalisations and deaths continue, while many millions with Long Covid have been ill for years and still have no access to treatments.
