On December 27th, our family’s world changed forever. My brother Patrick, my dad John, and my step-mom Valerie were involved in a devastating car accident, and Patrick passed from this world far too soon. My dad and Valerie have miraculously survived. They remain in critical condition in ICU, but they are making the small steps forward each day. Patrick was a beautiful soul. He was gentle, curious, passionate, and deeply kind. Every person I have spoken to has spoken about his kindness. It was something everyone felt in his presence. I am endlessly proud of the person he became and of the quiet way he supported and cared for others. Over this past week, I keep finding myself returning to memories of him as a child, full of laughter, humour, and light. I was so lucky to spend Christmas Day with him, with my dad and Valerie, and I will treasure those moments forever. Patrick was the happiest I had seen him in a long time, and I truly believe that matters. I will carry that with me always. I have had the honour of speaking with some of Patrick’s closest friends and hearing beautiful stories about his gaming, his loyalty, and the support he gave to so many people. One friend described him as a “guardian of light,” and that feels deeply true. It is something I will hold close to my heart forever. Patrick, you are so loved and so deeply missed. There will always be a space in our family shaped exactly like you. Thank you for the love you gave us and the light you brought into our lives. The love, prayers, and kindness we have received have carried us through the darkest days, and we are so grateful. My favourite thing about this film is how certain parts and lines of dialogue feel like a group of people sat at a table playing the game, so any sequels should have the same cast but playing completely different characters as if the group’s on a new campaign.

My first interaction with Warhammer was a session run by GW at my local library to show off the new LotR game in 2001ish, and I was taken through the Balin’s Tomb scenario.

I was gutted when I missed out on this release a couple years ago, so god bless the person on eBay selling it for £65.

Purification systems run autonomously. Biomarkers tracked. Nutrition is calibrated. Yet outside my control is the affection of another. The 68 trillion cells that constitute Bryan Johnson run non-negotiable code. They demand tenderness, and not of a whimsical type, but deep, all-encompassing love that must be earned and carefully maintained. Otherwise they protest in self-termination. She's now only 13 miles away and I can viscerally feel her essence. The transmission pulses in high fidelity. I slip my hand under her shirt and brush the small of her back. Goosebumps spread like a wildfire across her body. Her hypothalamus stimulates the release of GnRH which tells the pituitary gland to wake up her reproductive system. Our olfactory systems consume each other with delight, signaling immune system compatibility. I move both my hands to her jawline, holding her head firmly in place. Our mirror neurons speak to each other. I know what she wants. My lips press against hers and I softly bite her lower lip. Kate's blood vessels dilate from the acetylcholine and nitric oxide release, flushing her lips, skin and body. The cascade is nearing waterfall. The executive control of our brains surrenders. No longer concerned with the 68 trillion cells. The prefrontal cortex goes dark. Eliminating future planning and probabilistic modeling. Activity in our parietal lobes diminishes, dissolving the boundary that distinguishes between self and other. No longer is there Kate and Bryan, just a singular biological entity suspended in a state of bliss. The outside world goes quiet. It doesn't exist. We dissolve into raw existence.
