You know what really sucks? The lowest SES area in Wangaratta has had their power off longer than anyone else. Literally for hours. Highest levels of disability and poverty in this town, suffering through the worst of the heatwave without any relief

The last family in the Palestinian village of Yanoun left their home last week, joining a growing list of communities that have been erased from existence through the establishment of Israeli "shepherding outposts" in their place.

"did you try to bribe the president of the united states by giving him your nobel peace prize so he will declare that you are in charge of venezuela after abducting its leader by military force" is just a thing that someone can be asked in an interview now and we all have to deal with that
Hannity: Did you at any point offered to give him the Nobel peace prize?

Machado: It hasn’t happened yet. We want to give it to him. Share it with him.

just completely insane that “lift the Cuban embargo” is not a politically tenable position in this country for the ostensibly left party. the Cold War ended 35 years ago but we still have to choke out a tiny island nation to please the worst people in Miami

People have no idea that as horrifying as Burgum's "We need to drill all public lands" bullshit is, despite oil companies not even being horny for new supply, that the things he could do with privatizing federal lands that aren't oil suck so hard lol.
Be warned: this "Abundance" insanity just offers excuses for selling off our public lands. Land is not the issue for US housing! We have depopulating cities! And people do not want to be warehoused in the Nevada desert with no water supply, no utilities, no infrastructure, and no jobs. 1/
50-60 million acres of this land is held in trust for sovereign Native nations. This was written by a professor who teaches at the most highly ranked law school in the country and who should have mentioned this.

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

second degree murder, and specifically depraved heart murder, wherein the accused doesn't actively plan to kill a specific person or people but acts with callous disregard for human life - like firing a gun into a crowd or driving drunk - should apply to decisions made by CEOs and heads of industry
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

Silicon Valley’s alliance with Donald Trump was a mask off moment and showed the world we can’t depend on US tech companies.

For the past few months, I’ve been trying to get off US tech and I put together a guide so you find alternatives too. I hope you find it helpful!

When they murder people, let's dissolve them. Break them up, destroy their technology, nationalize their assets.

US invades Venezuela claiming China is making energy deals there thousands of miles from the US border = Fine. Normal. Monroe Doctrine. Just wish he'd asked Congress.
