Issa Rae has canceled her sold out performance at the Kennedy Center. Pulitzer Prize winner Rhiannon Giddens, Peter Wolf, Low Cut Connie, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, D.C., have also canceled. Lin-Manuel Miranda has canceled the entire Kennedy Center run of Hamilton.

Michelle hung around with a group of four girls, all good looking and sporting similar uniform violations to those Michelle affected.. One in particular caught my eye and I asked Gary what her name was.
“The fat chick? That's Cait,” said Gary.
“That's not very nice,” I said. “Anyway, she's pretty.”
“I suppose,” said Gary, unenthusiastically. “She won't date you anyway.”
“I think she'd go out with me,’ I said.
“Ten bucks says she turns you down flat,” said Gary.
I took the bet and walked straight over to Cait and asked her out. Then I walked back to Gary and put a ten dollar bill in his waiting hand. He grinned and said, "Pleasure doing business with you.”
“It's funny, though,” I said, “when they clobber you with a really devastating insult, they suddenly get ten times more attractive.”

I wasn't quite sure, so I checked. I mostly use commonplace slang like cock and dick. I occasionally use anatomical terms, where the description needs to be dispassionate and detatched.

In The Writing Machine, Nick has a phobia about locked doors. He always opens and closes doors where ever he is, to make sure they are not locked. This causes big problems when he has to serve 2 years in prison.

They all slowly approached her. Gilda opened her eyes and said, “Get ready for a surprise!”
Everybody in the room turned and ran out the door, out the front of the flat block. The policemen in front were pushed down the flight of steps and got tangled up in the police tape.
Thomas Halyard shook his head sadly and wandered into the flat. He saw the note on the fridge. He wandered into the room where the broken Gilda lay in pieces.
“No explosion,” she said. “Surprise!”
“Hello Gilda,” said Thomas, noticing for the first time that her eyes were modelled on Cyril's. “Sorry about that.”
“I enjoy working with humans,” said Gilda. “Doctor Sitter taught me a song. Would you like to hear it?”
“Yes Gilda,” said Thomas, “I'd like to hear it.”
“That old black magic has me in its spell. That old. … black … magic …”
With that, poor Gilda, who had been such an important part of Thomas Halyard's conquest of the world, ceased to function forever.

I'm a bit self-conscious about my ability to write het sex scenes, but I kind of like this moment. To put the last line in context, Delia has never had sex before this.

After a minute or two Delia said in a slightly concerned voice "You're not going to … you know … ask me to … return the favour are you?"
Again Jamal withdrew briefly and said "No, I don't even like that."
"Thank God" said Delia in a relieved tone, "I just couldn't …"
Delia started to caress and stroke his head lightly then held it a little more tightly for a moment then relaxed. She patted his head and said "I think we're done here".
Jamal sat back.
"Don't kiss me with that mouth," she said "It's got bits of …" Delia grimaced, " … me all over it.'
Jamal smiled and went to find a bathroom to wash out his mouth.
"Mouthwash on the bottom shelf under the sink. And there's a new toothbrush still in its pack on the upper shelf," said Delia. "Throw it away afterwards".
Jamal came back in.
"Maybe wait a bit before you kiss me," she said. "Oh, by the way … best sex I've ever had "

Daryl began sex work and porn acting soon after graduating NIDA and finding that creative jobs had been decimated by AI (it's set in the second part of this century). It was especially hard to find work as he had a criminal record.
