I'll probably be unable to use Bluesky for the next month, and this fundraiser really needs support over the next 16 days. Wouldn't it be great if a different person reposted it every day until the 14th?

Anyone notice how quickly the "No Kings" protest movement brought back all the lies and conspiracy theories of nonviolence that we fully laid to rest in 2020?

Here's an article that gives a lot more detail about this project-- how do we take on climate change without massive land theft and mining? What's an anticolonial approach to the ecological crisis?

Praying for everyone. What a terrible situation.
What we're witnessing with #Melissa is ultra rare in the history of known hurricanes in the Atlantic. This level of sustained intensity and feasting on every joule of ocean heat content without any real disruption is incredible.

Not hyperbole: Jamaica is facing a generational catastrophic event.

Elite voices demonizing, criminalizing, and penalizing (including with the death penalty) property destruction by the lower classes has been going on for centuries or millennia, depending on the territory.

"Violence" being used as a moral/political category dates largely to the 20th century.

historians -- when did defacing buildings start getting called "violence" in the press? it always seems kind of strange to see it equated with violence against, you know, people

Why do you get to define whether a protest is peaceful? If some people are choosing to riot, it's not a peaceful protest, yet still you're giving yourself power over how others participate.

And when have the media and State ever portrayed movements for *radical transformation* in a positive light?
Yes, the violence is here. We can outwit them in other ways. We don't need violence. That's what they want from us. Don't give into it.
Or if you do; Go in on your own mission, if you choose. But pushing your violence during peaceful protests, ur only doing the bad guys a favor by discrediting☮️

“If we could convince a big chunk of society to finally turn their backs on capitalism and all the institutions of power, to understand the ecological crisis as something that enfolds most of the social crises…there might actually be hope for these next few decades.”

We need to shift back towards an anti-surveillance culture! Surveillance helps ICE, it helps the cops, it helps the Nazis cops often work with, it makes you more vulnerable to identity theft and getting your credit cards or personal photos stolen and it puts others at risk too!
A lot of surveillance infrastructure is put up by the State. But these days the vast majority is by consumers. We need to spread the idea that constant surveillance is not okay!
No more Teslas, no more Rings, leave your phone at home when you go out!

Destroy every Ring camera. Straight into the fires of Mount Doom.

We already learned that nonviolence doesn’t work in 2020. The learning got erased. We learned it in 2014. Erased again. We learned it in 2009. Then lost it. Learned it in 2003. Erased. Learned it in 1991. Gone. Learned it in 1968. Erased. Learned it in 1939. See the pattern? tinyurl.com/5c7n2dxs

Hey folks, when you see pacifist garbage like this being spread, please let them know it's already thoroughly debunked. One of the original authors of this "comparative" methodology worked for the US State Dept for f*s sake.

Total pacifist ignorance, this time adjacent to really f*d up conspiracy theories.
The Nazis didn't need excuses, their whole base was actively pro-genocide.
Marinus van der Lubbe burned down the Reichstag. He was a council communist. The tragedy is that so few people took direct action like he did.

Ah yes, because two key characteristics of fascists are that:
-they are powerless against pacifists
-they only murder people who are being violent
Today was a situation in which the fascists would have LOVED for there to be violence.

NEVER GIVE FASCISTS WHAT THEY WANT.
