Here because I needed a place to keep track of the social unraveling and for silly nonsense (which I need because I paid attention to social unraveling). He/him

i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.

When Rob Reiner was on his all-time epic run at the start of his career, he had an opportunity to read a script that was looking for a production partner, and he lost his mind for it. He decided Castle Rock had to have it, no matter what.

If Republicans don't extend ACA subsidies, people are going to die. Now, they’re trying to tie Americans' health care to abortion restrictions that kill women.

It’s absolutely a non-starter. We won’t allow Republicans to use the lives of women as the political cost of extension.

Jasmine Crockett’s Senate bid is infuriating some colleagues.

“She might win a primary, but she ain't winning a general in Texas," said a senior House Dem.

Another House Dem told @axios.com: “Just look to see how many House members endorse her candidacy.” www.axios.com/2025/12/12/j...

Dude have you considered that a Silicon Valley company of 80 people has more flexibility than an organization of 2 million people? Wow. Lots to think about.

TLDR: Powell's comments about revisions had nothing to do with political interference but were driven by perfectly reasonable application of the data's methodology. Again, shame on @ronfilipkowski.bsky.social for spreading disinformation about the hardworking civil servants at the BLS.

No, this is wrong, stop reposting this absurd and miscalculated meme.

It assumes Cratchit is working a 40 hour work week (he isn't) and that straight line inflation extrapolations over centuries are valid (they're not) and fails to understand both Victorian class and household finance.

On one hand, the SCOTUS is about to hand Trump basically unlimited power and there's no sign of meaningful pushback from anybody and the future, or what remains of it, looks bleak, with nearly all optimistic takes proven wrong for the past year.

On the other hand, they couldn't cancel Jimmy Kimmel.

So love wobbegongs. Everything is good about the wobbegong. Its name. Its flattened Oscar the Grouch face. Its frondy bits. Its lazy life as a hungry rug. And it’s a shark. Outstanding animal 10/10
The Tasselled Wobbegong is a master of disguise that can eat a fish almost as big as itself in one gulp. It's classified as a shark, but when it lays on the sea floor it looks like a harmless rug if you manage to see it. But with powerful jaws and sharp teeth they are no fish to mess with.
