Graham is an old friend of ours from way back— he was a bartender at our neighborhood spot and worked with my wife there. I would run through a brick wall for this guy. Please, please have a look at supporting him. I’d say he is a regular guy, but he’s so much better than regular.

What. The. Fuck.
🚨HOLY CRAP. An ICE whistleblower just revealed a secret memo authorizing ICE officers to break into homes without a judicial warrant, which DHS's own legal training materials say is unconstitutional!

ICE then hid the memo from the public, passing it along by word of mouth and private conversation.

Why would they willingly put this story back in the news?

The fact they all exist in a weird bubble on X is blinding them to common sense political tactics here.

The market is rebounding on news that we are going to rule out force in Greenland and “negotiate” for it. Again, Denmark CANT NEGOTIATE A TRANSFER. This isn’t being talked about enough
January 21, 2026 at 4:22 PM
Trump’s TACO on Greenland should remind all of us that when corporate, financial, and GOP political elites take a stand, they can reign in Trump’s actions.

So remember that the next time they say that they’re powerless to stop him and just have to accept this stuff. It’s a choice!!

In the Apple TV space-race alternate history For All Mankind, season 4 includes an Al Gore Presidency where we have nearly eliminated reliance on fossil fuels and are exploring Mars, and I want to live in that world.
what do you MEAN Al Gore heckled Lutnick at Davos
January 21, 2026 at 12:54 PM
The media persists in treating the Greenland story as if Trump is just playing hardball to try and purchase or be “given” sovereignty over Greenland. There is no mechanism for Denmark to do this and is explicitly prohibited by their constitution!
January 21, 2026 at 12:01 PM
The adult in the room!
January 21, 2026 at 11:45 AM
Trump keeps insisting that Denmark can sell him Greenland. Under Danish constitutional law, they literally cannot do that. Trump seems to think this is a negotiating ploy — to him, all laws are fake. But no, they really cannot and will not.

You want to know why Chuck Schumer is talking about affordability & not Trump being a fascist? It's because we already tried talking about him being a fascist *& everyone ignored us*.
A big part of why we are at where we are is that much of the world, the press, foreign leaders, a big hunk of US voters, simply refused to believe it when Democrats said Trump would be as bad as he is.
January 19, 2026 at 8:30 PM
You’d think the current situation is so bizarre that it would negate the need to engage in histrionics, but this is BlueSky!

We aren’t going to have a shooting war with Europe. The nightmare scenario (we take military action in Greenland, NATO kicks us out and/or dissolves) is bad enough.

Big day for people who take MLK quotes out of context to win political arguments online— congrats to all who celebrate

Where would anyone even get that idea
US Treasury Secretary Bessent: It's a complete canard to think President Trump's action on Greenland is due to nobel peace prize.

This will get dunked on a lot — partly because the “five buckets” shit is so consultant coded. But actually he’s correct that affordability of housing, healthcare, childcare, and electricity are the public’s number one concern.

BlueSky has a lot of blind spots, this is one of them.
NEW: In this interview, Chuck Schumer describes the "five buckets" Dems think are key to their possibly winning a Senate majority in 2026: housing, "the high price of food [and] food monopolies playing a major role there," electricity, "the high cost of childcare," and health care.
Zero Chucks Left to Give
Chuck Schumer now sees a path back to the majority. Can he manage his way through it?

Ah yes Jonathan, without Frey saying that, ICE would never have rushed thousands of agents in
KARL: In the hours after the shooting of Renee Good, you went on national TV and said to ICE, 'get the F out of Minneapolis.' Do you regret that language? That doesn't sound like turning the temperature down

JACOB FREY: I don't regret it at all. If I seemed like I was angry and frustrated, I was.
January 18, 2026 at 10:54 PM
They do not have the ability to do anything like this in NY, and if they tried it would be a spectacular media and political failure
NEW: Minnesota is just the start. The Trump admin appears poised to use the same playbook—leveraging allegations of fraud to justify significant federal oversight—in other blue states across the country.

Next up? California and New York.
Minnesota Is Just the Beginning. California and New York Are ‘Next’
The Trump administration appears to be planning to leverage the same playbook used in Minnesota to go after other blue states.

You have all these “aesthetic maga” accounts on Twitter that gin up rage about some lost classical era of architecture and sculpture we need to RetVrn to. And then you see them all jacking off to the guy who did this shit

I'm not taking any stance on the validity and I certainly am not here to lecture the people of Minneapolis on how to endure the unendurable, but people aren't screaming that nonviolence isn't going to work because it has no history of success, they're screaming because it does & people hate it.
I think some posters on here missed that "getting punched in the face, repeatedly, by goon security services and not directly punching back" has been a core tenet of just about every successful nonviolent resistance movement in history

It’s so fucking bizarre how Gen Z Latino men were trending toward the GOP, Latinos on the whole arguably swung the election to Trump — and the administration rewarded them with The Kavanaugh Stop.

The viral videos of these Kavanaugh Stops are going to reverberate for the rest of their lives.

Dragging non-violent people out of vehicles that may be in Drive is one of the most dangerous and nonsensical things you can do
New video shows ICE agents detaining a US citizen legal observer in Minneapolis.

The agents smashed his car window, dragged him out, and placed a knee on his neck.

Left of center posters love arguing over which issues are most effective, but the best message is always layered. It’s not either/or, it’s both/and. That allows you to weave any emerging news event into an overarching theme rather than do the Yglesias “salience” game.
so this is pretty clearly “tying what’s happening with ICE back to kitchen table issues” but in stronger, less fusty language, which I actually think is fine. sometimes that’s what you need. it’s a funny game.
AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.
January 13, 2026 at 3:49 PM
The “Day of Reckoning” language is rightfully getting the most attention here, but the part immediately before it is the most illuminating.

They sent ICE to the Twin Cities to amplify the immigrant “fraud” narrative. Ironically, they’ve managed to completely bury and subvert it.
